Luckily my gf's parents are big into it and her dad caught a medium sized one at a garage sale and gave it to her as a gift. So I get the benefit of using it without having paid for it :)

Exactly, they are a very efficient smoker/griller, are they worth the money? I guess that’s in the eye of the beholder

Think I am headed to pick up some Brisket this weekend. Also looking to pick up a whole loin of steaks so I can cut my own.

my little brother got an XL in a full metal cart/table from an auction. Some guy that had his assets seized and they sold off all of his stuff, he ended up getting it for like $300. We looked the cart up and it was $1200 without the egg.

That XL is a massive beast though. I like my large and I built the table myself to the dimensions and height i wanted.

I'm pretty sure every year after Eggtoberfest they sell off the ones they used to cook on, which is a lot, at a discount. You'd have to come down to Atlanta though.

    Eggtoberfest is a blast btw.

I've got a Large I bought used from my cousin... it gets a lot of mileage.

Her parents go to it every year, along with one in Pensacola. That's how I got my stainless cap :)

You won't regret it. The MK4 is better as far as usability features than the classic, and the Smoke is the bomb. I have the exact same setup as you and paid the same too.
