I think this is the line you are talking about?

Yes, there is oil in there. It's not running out when I pulled the hose but when I put my finger to the end it had a couple drops on it for sure.

It does not look like it has made it up to the intake manifold though

Yeah that's the one. With heat though I imagine it gets dry relatively shortly after it leaks. 0w20 is pretty thin stuff and moves easily.

Maybe your engine self identifies as a diesel on inclines?:D

    Run it until it dies.

Just curious and seen your past comments, is it clicking or pinging? Oil lowers octane pretty good bit.. In for outcome though.

Check out the video in the first post, that's the best way I can describe it.

Pictures from today, down hill and the front in a rut. There was no smoke but the check oil/low oil light came on when I got out to take these pics. I am pretty sure that's normal though. As soon as I climbed out of the rut it went away.

No not at all that. Those come on and make a light and consistent ticking...not at all like your noise. Yours sounds like a piston smacking a valve or something.

Found some interesting discoveries today while checking the truck over and trying to further investigate the problem.

First thing is the coolant reservoir is closer to the low side than the full side. I can see residue from where it looks like some has come out of the top of the cap back onto the engine. I am guessing this is from being the steep angle?:notsure:
    IMG_9229 (1).jpg

Second thing I found was that it looks like the oil is over full? Which is very confusing because right after backing out of the hill @TacoAlaMode and I checked the oil and it was between the two dots...

    IMG_9230.jpg

Third thing, there is some kind of leak going into the transmission. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the smoking issue, just a little concerning.:frusty:

Sweet baby Jeebus, what does the 3.5/3rd gen NOT have a damn problem with?!?! Every time I look on here hoping to see you all posting great news about a slew of fixes from Toyota, I just see more new problems. It's getting super easy to resist temptation to "upgrade" from my current, seemingly bulletproof, (and fully paid off) 1st gen. Anyone else holding off after seeing all of this stuff?

I don't have any major issues. You'll find that in general, most people don't have these problems and the ones that do, talk about it on the forum. I've done steep hill climbs in my truck as well without any smoke billowing out.

Also I was told if I don't want my Leaf Springs to squeak that I should not drive my TRD Offroad 4x4 Tacoma off of the road... to include dirt or gravel roads.
