I've got to ask, how hard is the whole process/keeping it filled? I've got a barrel myself but, haven't tried using it yet.

 

@Slobber if you end up getting these, I can get them up to Maine at some point. I drive up to Sunday River fairly often and would have to drive through your area most likely.

Haha well, I can't speak for the guy if he buys them or not but, I figured I can at least offer the service since my parents are in Franklin and have a condo in Sunday River. I can say I'm coming to see them but, in reality they are just a checkpoint to getting parts. Plus maybe I can squeeze a free meal out of it too.

I'm still on the fence a bit, and am debating just saying F it and head south. The delivery service is super great too. eborgie, I'll send a message with some questions.

 

Honestly I'm not sure - I swelled it with some room temp water for a week and just filled it up saturday with the Jim. I'm going to check it this weekend when I'm back in town and will check it week to week. Rumor has it you have to top off every week so I bought a 1.5L bottle.

 

This is an area where my father has some expertise. I grew up making wine and he still does it. He has the press, a "grinder" and 3 or 4 barrels with a small one being the "special" wine that will put you to sleep lol. I used to help wash the barrels out and by the end of the process my hands were pretty purple/pink. Oh the memories lol. I'll have to snag a picture of inside his shed.

Mid rise would be ideal but will consider other options. I live in western MA and willing to travel a moderate distance.

Really, I like to eat that way when the weather is warm, but as we come into fall and shorter days i need something more substantial and satisfying. Pasta anyone ?
