yes when dwaggs mentioned 3-3.5" of lift from the 882's I knew that would be too much thats why I'm entertaining the whole bilstein idea that I mentioned above. whats your take on that? don't forget, I'm not really doing this for the lift I'm doing it because my rear leafs need to be replaced anyway. the lift and look is just a bonus

Trucks looks great. what wheels are those? what size tires and how much overall lift do you think you achieved? 2 inches? I'm obviously looking to keep costs down and not blow my wad here but I wanna do the right thing at the same time and not waste my money. like I said before the whole reason I'm doing this is because my rear leafs are shot. I'm trying not to let that get away from me but even I have started to believe the goal was lifting not replacing hahahaha. its funny how that works.

The previous owner put them on, I they are MB Motoring 352's, I *think* 16x8? Tires are 265/70 R16, also *I think*. I'm not at the truck right now and I always forget the exact numbers.

I put the front struts at the middle setting for 1.5" or so lift since I wasn't sure about alignment. The back was sagging, and that picture doesn't really show it but I have a definite rake now.
Here's the before. So I guess I got a net 1.5 in front and 3 in the rear? starting from -1.5 in the rear lol

My take: do it right and get it done right the first time. I figured out exactly what I wanted, researched a ton, spent months collecting parts. Then installed everything in one long day.

My thought behind is was, my truck has 114k I want it forever so might as well replace the whole suspension and get it the way I want.

So if your just looking to replace the rear leafs, with something to give you some lift, replace everything. Might take longer but it's worth it.

I totally agree with you and thats why this whole thing didn't stop at just rear leafs. What is your current setup? I think I got the rear leaf situation settled as I'm pretty set on Dakar's. however the front is the current topic of discussion. I'm also thinking about looking for a used set of kings depending on price. Is there any disadvantage to this other than having to rebuild them? anyone who has rebuilt a set of kings know roughly what the cost is?

up front: 882's with nitrochargers, SPC uca's
rear: EMU shackles, Dakars, nirtochagers, extended brakeline, BPV bracket

I've heard alot about kings, everyone with a set loves them. The only down side is the price.

5100s are a very common lift for these trucks. With your mileage, I’d plan to swap everything suspension wise (front coils and struts, rear shocks and leaf packs). 5100 struts are designed to work with factory coils and you adjust the ride height with the coil spring perch height. You can also get some lift coils such as OME or toytec coils for loft and leave the 5100s at the bottom setting. For the rear wheelers off-road makes a couple different sets of leaf packs depending on ride height you desire. OME also has a complete suspension kit that comes with everything you’d need for a complete lift. Toytec makes lifts as well.

how much lift would you say you attained and how come some Dakars have what looks to be like an overload spring or 2 and others don't? all the pictures I see of them for sale like on wheeler's website appear to have no overload spring.

Giving you measurement won't help, I have a different weight, so my numbers won't mean much.

Check out wheelers and headstrong off road

The leafs should be the same. And don't hesitate to give them a call if you have questions

The first picture is stock, second one is after lift on level ground. The reason they gave me about 3.5” is because my old suspension had 180k on it and was worn out. The 882 are slightly stiff because I have no weight up front and I plan on bumper/winch so it’ll soften up front. As for CV angles wheelers sells their OME kit with a diff drop spacers that will lessen your CV angles and once you add weight up front your cv angles will go back to stock spec. And I’m running 265/75/16 tires
