Towing this trailer cross country, FL to CA.
Truck is doing pretty well for pulling a loaded trailer!
Almost to Phoenix, less than a day away from my destination!

It's a 6x12 Anvil trailer, I had brakes and a straight axle added!

My thoughts are similar. I want to know how much my trailer is fully loaded for a week long vacation (3500lbs)

Dry weight is useful only as far as shopping for a trailer to use as a comparison. After you purchase a trailer your loaded weight should concern you. 15 minutes at a CAT scale and you'll know exactly how much weight is on your trailer axle, the tongue weight and each truck axle. I did it for piece the of mind to know I'm not overloading the trailer, or the truck. Knowing the tongue weight loaded gives me a better idea of how much crap I can load in the bed before I overload that axle.

in airstream land, bambi is any single axle, and I believe 'flying cloud' is an interior trim level. I do think there is a bambi flying cloud 19 or 20, but most of the flying clouds are a fair bit bigger.

I'm digging the floorplan of the Flying CLoud 23FB, but wow are those expensive.

A House is not a home, but your A/S could be !
Over 230 nights in it last year, about 140 this year so far makes it worth it !

There is one up on Craigslist nearby for $37K seems like a steal! My wife and I are tempted as we are moving across the country and don't know if we want to buy a house right away.

Somewhere between Sacramento and Portland. The idea would be to live in the trailer for the spring/summer and decide where to live, and maybe Yurt it for a few years as we build?

I've been trying for the past two years to get to out there permanently but life happens and I'm still stuck in the mid-west for now.

I lived in the Midwest for 2 years

    4 years in SE Asia
    2 years in Middle East

    4 years in north east

And too many years on west coast

My 2 years in Midwest were the best years of my life
    No traffic
    Friendly people
Real estate cost was cheaper than third world countries
    Bountiful women
    Lots of space

In order to settle down we would like:
    • Water source
    • Land for agriculture/animals
    • Close enough to town for my wife to bike into for recreation.
    • It would be nice to Yurt it with a 30'+ until kids start to come along.
