Lately just window washer fluid. I can get a hold of methanol for a little over $3 a gallon, but it’s a 15 mile drive for me[

 

up here where i am i can get -45 and -50 stuff with a high methanol content. 2 gallon jugs are $5 when they go on sale.

 

That’s not bad! It sucks that methanol seeps through the plastic or you could get like 50 jugs at once. I don’t like to store it for more than 6 months

 

That's cool. So you guys can run 255lph and larger fuel pumps without fuel pressure over run?

 

E85 is crazy. You can run so much timing. You want to run MBT (minimum best timing). So when Dyno tuning you add 1* at a time. You should get about 10lbft of power for each degree added. Once the gains are less than that you can stop. Usually people add timing too you get detonation but e85 will almost never detonate. I can run over 24* max timing at 30+psi on my talon with no knock.

 

Even though I’m intercooled and have a haltech I might get a meth kit as well cause twin cooled single turbo life

 

Another thought- since my '13 has a wideband AFR from the factory...wouldn't it be possible to tap a gauge off that wiring? I can see readings down as low as 11.5 through my Maestro RR & radio currently, which leads me to believe I wouldn't need to add another O2 bung.

 

You need a separate wb and guage. To tune in closed loop you have to alter the factory signal, so it thinks it's running 14.7 when it isn't. At that point, tapping into the factory sensor is pointless. If you don't alter the sensor reading, the ecu will be fighting you to get back to 14.7.

 

What did you do to alter factory sig

 

Roger that. It makes sense when I think about it- since that one is being controlled by the factory ECU. I already have an AEM wideband ready to go, I was just curious for myself.

 

Not the best about fuel pumps but i wouldn't see a 255 giving you a problem. It just makes up for larger injectors. You are increasing volume if you get a pressure drop with smaller pumps. Pressure still only 50 psi from the pump.

 

The MAP-ECU3 has a module that does it. It is controlled by the AFR Adjust table in the tuning software. URD sells their own box that accomplishes the same function for use with their MAF calibrator.

 

The 255lph high pressure pump has over ran every mitsubishi stock fuel pressure regulator causing fuel pressure to always rise. Making your car run super rich and impossible to tune. We always had to install an aftermarket FPR so it would not over run and set what ever pressure you need. Only 190LPH and smaller pumps would not over run. If the stock FPR can hanlde large pumps on toyota's thats pretty nice and saves money when modding.

 

Good to know. Haven't heard any issues with the Toyotas. A good chunk of people are running a 255. I just have a 190 cuz I got a killer deal on it.

 

Just so you know I’m running the 255LPH and stock FPR and it’s doing just fine

 

This is why it is still a good idea to upgrade the FPR.

 

i will have an aem e85 pump (320lph) and aeromotive fpr if i ever get time. havent decided if ill go e85 with turbo though since its not very common in my city and i want to be able to dd

 

I was in a similar boat. It was only $5 more at urd to get an e85 rated pump. Luckily there was a station put in right by my work that has e85 now so it worked out perfectly

 

ill probably run pump and see where it gets me. want to shoot for 700whp, fwd will be entertaining
