Both my inner cv boots are rubbing thru. I need some inner high angle cv boots. Has anyone run into this issue yet? It took me a year 15k to rub thru the stock ones. Does anyone sell them yet?

If you don't mind I'm gonna jump on here and ask the question if 3rd gen and 2nd gen axles are compatible?

If they are they make high angle boots for up to 2015. They take some modifications to fit.

That sucks. I've got 61K miles on stock CV boots with OME lift. You have extra spacer or anything else?

Nope. Just 888 springs on an access cab. The shocks are less than 1” from max extended with the weight of the truck on them. I’m saving for long travel.

I ordered some stock boots for 100 bucks from Toyota. I am going to cut the factory boot off on the small end and push the boot over it to hold it in place and stretch it out. I also ordered a diff drop kit. That might help a little.

Interesting man, I know sometimes that debris can get in between the grooves of the boot causing it to constantly rub on itself. LT axles wont help in this case as they will be too long for stock applications. You can look into SDHQ as they got some LT boots, which might have more rubber to accommodate more articulation and angles. Considering your set up currently, I wouldn't of guessed that you would of had this happen.

Every time I service mine, I do spray the boots down with silicone spray. I had read that in a Lexus owners manual
years ago, and implemented it into my normal service routine. Not sure how much it helps, but at least makes me feel better
and definitely wont shorten the life of them.

I was always taught that anything rubber should be sprayed with a silicone spray. Prevents premature wear, cracking etc
