I wish I could help man but I drive my work truck down which is fully rigged for surveying and I've got no extra room in the bed.

Ah poop. For some reason I thought you drove the taco there.

Hmm. I'll just have to make the trek myself I suppose.

Nah the big cheese sits in my driveway haha. The miles rack up fast enough as it is I can't imagine adding 3k miles per month to my own truck

Haven't you spent the last several years making fun of toppers and how they look. :luvya:

Only after some mud do you appreciate the practicality and dry storage.

Will it work with your swingout? I was wondering about that.

Topper camping is still stupid I think. Mine has a tent in it haha totally different. Topper for storage has always been good.

And...Idk. have thought about it too. Hoping it will or I'll just modify it.

    Hell no.

I think if I like the wildernest I'll finally buckled down and do the rear suspension how I've wanted to with outboard shocks. Spend time valving them and I think I'll live.

If not. I'll just sell it. It's in pristine condition for 20 year old topper

    Yeah I know..

Will be different for sure. See if I like it first but the rear suspension could help a lot with stability. Considering my current shocks are shit..I think some bypasses and hydro bumps will be nice and having the wider axle and outboard shocks will keep it more stable too.

I don't understand how guys build crazy rigs and then sell them right when they get them to the peak of their goal build wise. I guess it's a money thing but wtf. It's been a wierd phenomenon on tw in the last year. Just saw that that Chandler guy on 37's who just finished his rear flatbed build with Al canopy is selling. Provoked my comments just now...

I saw that too. So odd, then they always go with a landcrusier or something. Odd to see what he gets for it too.

In the modding and vehicle restoration business I think the “high” for a lot of guys is the anticipation and incremental progress of the project. Once you’re done there is sort it of this let down post partum depression thing that sets in. The easy answer is to make your end goal unobtainable and always have one more tweak or mod left to do, that way you never get let down by reaching your goal and have the expectation be way better than the reality. The number of 100k$ streetrods that go for 25k$ at Barrett Jackson is a prime example
    Of this.

Haha so true. It just does not compute with my brain. What we do is not something that is profitable as a build and flip thing. It's pretty much a sure money sink hole that it's never coming out of at a gain

I think he needs cash to get his tray business going and tent company. So he sells his Tacoma now and he buys another later. 37k for it and all that shit is not bad but still his buyer market is tiny tiny tiny. Be some idiot from this forum or his price needs about 10k less at 91k niles

I honestly hope it works out for him. I appreciate the entrepreneur in him and he's got a cool thing going with that flatbed tray thing

Happens to damn near every serious lt build that isn't down by hand but sent to a shop for 16 months and then sells it before driving it.

    I don't get it either.

Pffffff I could sell frank for 50k easy!!!

    Not...

Kinda some truth there I think. But I know I'm ready for a rig that just works 99% of the time with just maintenance and go cool places.

But I guess that's what's different. I want my build to take me places. Not just be a build to build something. But to do something. Of which is an endless goal because there are so many places to go see and go back to.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong I like wrenching on frank for sure. But end goal is to get outside in a manner I want to. Fast in my case and mostly comfortable. I've wrenched for months straight and much prefer days of driving straight haha

I don't think you can do what we do and not bond with them. Hell...mine is named and basically everyone, including my own family, calls Frankenstein by name..

    Obsessed.

    Yeah I hate that too.

Frank has been VERY neglected over the last 4 years having been in St Louis all winter and then Sheridan. Hopefully that'll change with my new job. Get to stay in one spot now and come home every night and work on the trucks. Just like old times.

Stoked to do some maintenance and lots of little upgrades I've had parts for for a long time as well as a couple major ones.

Nice! Looks good. Front looks similar to an allpro
