So, for those of you who have replaced all the speakers (speakers only, no amp), would you say that the system is louder afterwards??

The door speakers alone definitely sound better, its louder and clearer. Waiting for the tweeters to arrive today cant wait to see the how much of a difference the tweeters will make.

Day and night difference... no amp needed for me. Bass is sufficient as well. You won't be shaking the car next to you, but it's plenty inside the cab.

Can we hear a little more info on the Jl audio microsub your talking about ... easy install? ... make a lot of difference in the bass? ( i think the 6x9's give out pretty good bass as it is )

NO doubt at all, if you crank the volume up to say between 45-55 you will really notice just how much louder and better sounding these speakers are ... my nephew swore i added an amplifier the first time he heard it after i replaced all 6 speakers

I’d say my setup is 35-40% louder overall can stock. I use to have my volume at or near max most of the time with stock speakers and now I run it about 2/3 volume for the same loudness but when I crank it up to max it is loud as I’d ever want it to be. And depending on the song max can actually be too loud for my ears that have heard and seen way too many loud concerts up close over the years ;)

I had one of Metallica's new songs (Spit Out The Bone) playing last night at volume level 55 and it was all my ears could take .. this set up is just perfect for me, no amp or sub needed. I have also really been enjoying some local HD stations that i never even listened to before as well as the Iheartradio paid version which i often listen (offline) to my playlists via bluetooth ... just really enjoying the new sound of these 6 Kicker speakers and would say it's definitely the best investment i've made in my truck

Although I do not care for Entunes, it seems that Toyota did do well with the hardware they used for the OEM headunit (at least the non-JBL premium version that many of us seem to have). It produces a clean signal and a decent amount of power...both of which is not normal in a normal stock headunit.

With that said, I can see why a good/efficient speaker would only serve to enhance things over the minimalist stock speakers (even without an amp).

I've gotten out of my truck several times in the last couple of weeks and my ears were ringing from listening to the music a little too loud. That never happened with the stock speakers.

Got my speakers on Tuesday, due to time I have been doing a little bit after work each day.
    1. The tweeters are a huge improvement

    2. Did the right rear last night, also added 80 mil noico to the door skins. Went for a drive and faded to full rear and then between stock and kicker. The kicker is clearer and less muddy sounding not a huge difference but noticeable.

    3. Got the left rear installed after work and sound deadening. Getting quicker and more confident, took me an hour start to finish. Went for a drive again, things are really starting to sound good. Still got the 6x9s to install and am getting excited for what they will add. In addition the noico gives the doors a nice solid thud when closing. Talladega this weekend so it will probably be next week before I'm done. Definitely worth it so far.

Oh buddy, wait till you get your 6x9's installed .. you will really be amazed at the difference. I have mine faded 3 clicks to the rear and it sounds really good. If you leave it set dead center you hardly hear the 6 3/4's in rear cause the 6x9's put out so much sound.
Report back after you get the 6x9's installed, i'm curious to hear what you think ... after your done put in a CD or play something via bluetooth and slowly turn volume up, at 20-25 level you'll think " sounds a bit better than stock " ... crank that head unit up to about 40-45 level and the "WOW" factor starts to sink in

Doesn’t the stock head unit max out at like 50 though?

Just got my rear kickers and see they come with a grill. I haven't read if they are going to be in the way or not. Figured I'd ask. Haven't seen any one mention them.

Snap! So amazed by just the tweeters. So much clearer... Much louder and clean sounding. Not like a B&O sound system but Def a big improvement and worth every pennies. Don't hesitate and do it guys... Now I'm going to wait for speakers to go back on sale. Someone link me to a great deal so I can go broke... :amen:
