What happened?

 

Me being stupid with a knife trying to pry something open.

 

I count 10 stitches. Where did you stick that finger?

 

Been there, done that (kinda) with a razor knife! Slipped and cut my left forearm!

 

No joke about the bill being the bad part! it definitely scared me the most!!

I take it by the dates on the bills that youre free and clear now? ?

You aren’t kidding on those bills. My dads bill for his chemo was $900k. If the leukemia hadn’t killed him, the sight of the bill would have.

My name is Cliff Griffin. I took that pic.... I took 4 in sequence as that solo went into the crowd.... Did first aide and buddy care for about 90 minutes following the crash..... I still have nightmares of the people screaming.

Man, talk about a small world. I ended up losing all my body hair, most of the hair on my head, 2nd degree burns under my clothes, 1st on my hands and forearms. I got hit in the jaw with a piece of shrapnel. Thankfully it hit flat, so it didn’t puncture the skin. My beard won’t grow there. Have some other spots that won’t grow hair there either. Luckily for me, my neighbor was a medic and since none of my blisters popped and I didn’t get cut, antibiotics and burn gel were all I needed. Granted, I went through tubs of the stuff, but didn’t have to be hospitalized. Still not sure how I made it. I don’t fly well anymore and low flying planes give me major anxiety. I have to take the 28th of August off every year.

 

28 Aug, 1988... like it was yesterday.... Were you active duty? I was an Air Traffic Controller when stationed at Ramstein. I was about 50 yds away from where the solo went into the crowd.... close enough to to feel the heat and felt several pieces of metal strike the ground around me, but I didn't have a scratch... Yeah, I don't attend Air Shows any more..... It will never be the same... I'll see if I can find the photo album and post the other pics here...

Blows my mind that I lived. I was in that fireball. My father was active duty, I was a 14 year old dependent. If you were in the tower, you may know my mom.

 

Imagine being in the middle of it. In the early 90’s, I was asked to be on a TV program about the show. When I am at a computer, I will post the video. Someone else posted it to YouTube. Most of the footage used in the video either my mom or I shot, including the crash...
