Finally got around to ordering/installing a boost gauge and a wide band afr sensor. Question for you gurus- the wide band sensor (bosch 4.9) seems to be consistently .1-.2 richer in reading than the factory sensors. I know such a small amount is not a big deal, but which sensor factory or wide band would be more accurate say at idle?

Depending on where you placed the sensor, as in before or after the cats, it will read different. Ideally to get the "correct" AFR you want the O2 sensors pre-cat.

After the cat shows a leaner condition. I have no cats so it can't be that.

That URD looks really nice under there. I've got a DT y-pipe I am going to use. Chopping it up to add a x-pipe and dual mufflers. The lengths will be different unless I start from scratch and do something similiar to the URD y-pipe. I can't find solid information on how the different lengths can affect it so I just might make due with what I currently have.

You want the length to be equal to the Y or X for best sound / power.

That's what I figured, same concept as header building, merge collectors, and proper scavenging. I was trying to picture a y-pipe as a 2 to 1 merge collector. The reason I was a bit puzzled is the fact that almost everyone's Y-pipes aren't equal length including the DT one I own.

    Exactly.

They aren't equal length because it's a bitch to do equal length on a truck. The custom Y on my 89 isn't equal length, but i may modify it one day... listen to the URD full exhaust - it's equal length and makes the 4.0 sound fantastic.
