    Hey guys,

I wanted some of your opinions/advise on head lights. I want to get some black ones but I don't want to do the BHLM on my OEM lights so I am looking into buying some aftermarkets but my only concern is fogging inside the lens. The last pair I had on my old truck fogged up after about 6 months and even after I took the light apart, cleaned, and resealed it, it fogged up again like 2 months later.

So, granted I only paid $130 for the pair. I'm sure if I were to have bought a pair that cost more maybe the quality would have been better but who knows. I wanted to know if there is a brand/company out there that makes a good quality product that someone has first had experience with. I've looked at a lot of head lights online and they all claim to hold up to the elements and what not...Just wanted to get some insight!

    Thanks guys!!

You can also get the TRDpro headlights and have OEM quality with a smoked look. They aren't black.

Here's some pictures of mine with aftermarket black headlights....I'll dig up the link in a minute.

ATV trail dents, many, many lights, 4-6 beer cans.
The fog typically comes as a result of the mfg skimping on butyl sealant along the joint between clear lens, and headlamp body.

A cheap test solution, buy some urethane seam sealer that will bond to plastic, pull both lights, & slather those seams!

    Options basically boil down to:
    1) Stock Pro/Sport smoke chrome
    2) BHLM or BHLM style lights with black housing and chrome reflector
    3) Projector headlights to eliminate chrome reflector entirely. Preferable decent retrofit if you care about output.

Mine are really close to the stock housings, but they have a slight tint.

I bought some aftermarket black housing headlights, they look great on my truck, i honestly love the look but the light output sucks compare to OEM. Now I'm looking into getting some retrofits or maybe retrofitting theM

If you still have your original OEM ones, get a retrofit kit from @TRSAndrew & retrofit your old ones.

I put my FX-R projector setup in some DEPO headlights ~2 years ago, amazing kit, light output is at least 2-3x better than OEM, & the projectors are really well built, if they ever break (which I seriously doubt) I will just build another set.

So long story but I’ve done the cheap blacked out even with upgraded harness and 100 watt hella bulbs light was less than factory. Had spcc lights that leaked the black ones leaked also.
Stock didn’t leak. The black I got rid of and the spcc lights turns out it was the seal between housing and bulbs. Added some rescue tape to make seal thicker and no more moisture. 109$ with bulbs from Amazon. The tint has begun to lift delaminating after 3yrs. Added eyelids still going today. 5B5A0848-4B75-47D3-AAB8-7FE18274C4B0.jpg
