Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

1.02C-A (All Gears)

Truck drives like it should of from the factory. Truck feels lighter and more responsive. One area I can definitely see an improvement in is the delay that would occur when you would step on the gas. To me it felt like it took the truck seconds to recognize what was going on before it decided to act. This was dangerous when pulling out of parking lots or trying to pass on the highway. I also drive on toll roads often where the MPH limit are 80/85 mph. The transmission would hunt for gear constantly at that speed and would downshift at the slightest incline or feather of the pedal. The tune alleviated this issue by allowing the transmission to hold gears longer. On 1.02B I was seeing decreased MPGs, somewhere in the 16mpg range with tires in my signature. I am now seeing 18-19mpg with this new 1.02C-A tune. Some have said that 1st gear is too firm or jolting, I think 1st gear feels awesome as there is a noticeable improvement in acceleration and agility of the truck, opposite of the tank feeling it had on the stock Toyota tune.

 

04B11 guys, my rig has been flashed, she's been driven and let me just tell you...

Initial report is in and, well, if my girlfriend's panties vaporizing on the test drive doesn't tell you anything, all I can say is that it is legit. Acceleration to redline is smooth, my truck is fully armored on 35s and she pulls like she's stock. Idle is butter smooth and I am pretty sure the chick at the mickey D's drive through rode the "O" as we pulled away. It's Brennan Huff singing at the Catalina Wine Mixer good.

Very nice! My truck is still mostly factory so it’ll be interesting to see the difference it makes. My kit shipped and should be here any day

That's it... I'm trading mine for a newer one. Before I sign the papers though, I'm gonna need 2 min alone with the truck so I can make sure it's 04B12.

It makes a huge difference brother!

Even though all of the tunes released so far are not specific to the M/T, they still greatly improve the driveability over stock.

Night/Day kinda thing

 

Just loaded 1.02C-Shift_A (91). This is the very first tune I've loaded, and since I was coming from 04B02 I loaded the TCU-1.02BB file first as Matt instructed.
The writes do go MUCH quicker than the initial reads that were required to email Matt my stock files.
All I've done thus far is start the truck up to be sure it runs... (wipes sweat from brow)
My last 3 tank fulls have been 93, and that's what's in there now.
I haven't driven it yet, but have a 70 mile trip coming up in two hours.



Edit: Just took a quick trip to the bank (about 5 miles round trip). This included neighborhood streets, and some highway (45-50mph). I gotta say the truck now feels like a NORMAL vehicle. I was in normal "D" mode the whole time, as opposed to ECT mode that I always used before. The truck shifted up and down when I expected it should, and didn't seem to "fall flat" after shifts like it very often did before. I sure hope it stays this way after it "learns". Thanks Matt!
