No this is great info. The Toyota stock fpr seems to be great. Must be based off the Supra FPR.

If I got a MAP-ECU3 and the MAP-ECU AFR Module, would iMAPCAL output the AFR or would I still need to get another wideband?

    A thing or two...
You need a separate wideband because you're altering the stock sensor signal to trick the ECU. The MAP-ECU3 software will only show AFR if you feed it the output signal from your wideband. It doesn't use that info for anything except datalogging.

This just doesn’t make sense to me. I’m assuming, by your description, that the AFR output wire is cut and becomes an input to the MAP-ECU; the MAP-ECU then sends out a laundered signal to the ECU. If true, I would think the MAP-ECU would display the actual input. Or if there is a separate input wire for AFR display, why couldn’t someone just connect this wire to the AFR output wire too?

the way I understand it is, the ecu needs to read afrs from the factory wideband, if u adjust those numbers the ecu then makes adjustments based on that. however if that is also what you are using to read afrs, the numbers you read will now be incorrect because you have tricked the ecu into thinkin the afrs are not what the factory widebands reading and you will get a false read because of this. so tuning from this point on would become a shot in the dark because you would have no idea what the actual afrs are. and seems like the stock wide bands are voltage and not resistance or something something something

I can’t find a pinout. This is the idea..
What my understanding is of how people are doing it:

My idea, connect both inputs to the AFR output

well just got off the phone with CXracing and got my clamps ordered. I had a half dozen $25 prepaid cards and multiple tenders are not very internet friendly so had to phone one in, but I think it saved my about $10 on shipping somehow so I'm ok with that

True taking the unmodified signal would work. Just easier to have a standalone afr gauge with wideband because you'll need to come up with a separate gauge on your dash.

Sweet. I don't have the wifi module or an iPhone so it was cheaper to do a wideband.
You might need to give them a 0-5v table for your wideband if one doesn't exist yet.

I'm new to all this, I don't know how to capture that. I don't even have a MAP-ECU3 yet- just trying to educate myself before a purchase, to know exactly what I'm getting myself into.

the 8374 is rated 700 crank which may be possible to get to the wheel with a some push. :notsure: havent done the maths. just dreaming until the car is up and running first.

no but that would be fun to go to. been wanting a high hp car and figure this should do it just fine, haha. wipe a few grins off some newer cars
