Hello TW. Does anyone have any thoughts on modding this rear bumper on an 04' tacoma? Worth it?

    https://houston.craigslist.org/pts/d/arb-rear-bumper-no-swing-out/6343103704.html

Any opinions would be appreciated. I modified a front addicted offroad 4runner bumper to fit on my tacoma a couple of months back so im wondering if I can do the same on this rear bumper. Is $400 a fair price for this bumper? If purchased i plan on building/adding a swing out tire arm to this bumper. Thoughts on this project would be great too.

You may have to do a fair bit of modifying to get it to fit. Not sure of the difference in frame width, but the mounting points are probably not the same, and the 60 body is wider than a Tacoma so it'll need to be chopped down.

$400 seems like a lot for something that will take that much work. If you're able to do that level of fabrication, why not make your own?

My thoughts exactly, I work for a metal supplier and I'm positive you can buy the material for about half that especially if your local supplier has a decent "scrap" pile.

Depends on how complicated you want to get. I built mine out of rectangular tubing and angle, not quite as cool looking as some plate bumpers but a lot stronger. You can design a swingout into it then as well, instead of trying to adapt it to work.
