My front right tire was getting worn down on the inside part only. Took in to get it aligned.

They said that they weren't able to get the specs completely right. Something about shims and it would cost a couple hundred dollars more and that it wasn't worth it.

    Here are the results:

Are these results enough to prevent uneven wearing out of tread on my tire?

What exactly is involved when using shims to do alignment...WHY do I need this??

You, my friend, just got what is known as a "toe 'n' go". Notice how neither your castor or camber was adjusted at all. All they did was move your tie rod ends in or out, which adjusts the toe angle completely independent of castor or camber. Pretty much they screwed you. And no, you don't need any kind of shims.

Do you have a lift of any sort? Bigger tires? Anything else that's not OEM?

Edit: the reason your tires are wearing unevenly is because the camber is out, and to a small degree the toe as well. I try to shoot for 0 camber and 0 toe, which means your tires are perfectly vertical and in line with each other.

No lift. But the tire I had put on to replace the unevenly worn out tire is different from the rest of the tires. I knew there would be some issues because a previous mechanic had said he wasn't able to do a proper alignment on it. My lower ball joint gave way the tired fell off while I pulled in to my driveway.

The uneven wearing out of the tire started around that time I believe. That's when the mechanic said that he wasn't able to a proper alignment and to take it a specialty shop...which I did.

Ah. This is a 5 lug? I'm not familiar with the alignment specs for those, or why a ball joint failure would cause difficulty in getting a proper alignment.

Regardless, the "specialty shop" you went to did basically nothing. Actually they made your toe angle worse on the left side. I'd be pissed.

I’ve had the toe and go a couple once that I know of, and probably more than that. I’m over it.

Last time I didn’t get a print out of the specs I made them put it back on the rack so they could print me out a copy.

They will probably be willing to give it another go if you call them and mention you want a full alignment instead of just the toe adjustment.
