oh shit! that should be more than enough then, it's not like you've put less than
100 miles on it. Waiting on tracking # here but this is concerning, "taking a hit over
    time" is no bueno!

Also just noticed the huge difference in throttle response between in Neutral clutch out vs. Just having the clutch pushed in. These motors definitely have major software limitations in place. All you manual owners go sit with the parking brake on sitting in the driveway or whatever and just push the throttle half way to the floor aggressively and then do the exact same simply with the clutch pushed in. Major difference for sure.

Hopefully a dedicated MT tune will help with this

    THIS!

I did this a while back and actually sent an email to Mat about it.

There's no way there's that much of a difference in response due to adding the transmission internals to the rotating mass. It feels muted.
And, there's the fact that the ECM "knows" when you've moved the clutch pedal the slightest amount from full engagement, due to that switch on the mechanism.

I'll go a bit further while we're on the subject - There's also a difference in response with clutch in when you're driving. It is also muted compared to sitting at a complete stop with clutch in. This lack of consistency drives me batshit crazy and completely fucks over a well executed downshift rev match.. unless you do it slow as shit.

    I have 1.02B loaded currently.

Edit: Yes, @St.Germain you read that right lol. I decided to give 1.02B another (longer) go this time :)

I just don't feel the need to numb the throttle response for any reason, I know tons of cars I have worked on over the last 8 years have a built in soft rev limiter around 3k rpm(give or take) instead of it's redline while in Neutral or Park.

I'm a Millionaire! One Million Posts!!
Observations after my 70 mile trip:

While in "D" (ECT off) The transmission no longer elicits that "lost" feeling... the feeling that it may be in the wrong gear, and that it doesn't really know which gear it needs to be in to do what you're asking it to do at the moment. It now seems to be in the correct gear, and shift to a better gear if it needs to. Overall a much more pleasurable driving experience, and a as driver you feel that you can proceed down the road with greater confidence.
My 70 mile round trip included about 48 miles of 65mph speed limit roadway (Lake Pontchartrain Causeway). There are 4 smaller "humps" and 2 bigger "humps" in each direction. Driving about 68mph the transmission still downshifted for these humps, but not nearly as obnoxious as it did before the tune.
The average MPG (as kept by the truck indicator) has been about 21.5mpg in recent weeks when running with ECT on. My trip today with ECT off has bumped the displayed average up to 21.9, and I looked at the instantaneous reading several times while on the Causeway at 68-69mph. The instantaneous on the bargraph was just below 30mpg... like 28 or 29. I've never seen instantaneous readings that high before.. generally they might be around 24 or so. For the record, it's not cool here today. The outside temperature displayed by the truck was 87 during the trip.

Hey guys, nearly drained my 91 E0 tank and put in 87 E10 and loaded 1.02C_A 87 to compare against the 91 map.

As others have stated, 87 is every bit as smooth with the same basic driving characteristics as the 91. After 50 miles on the 87 map though, I've definitely concluded the power loss is real, and not something I'm prepared to give up for that ~10 bucks or so a tank difference. I was noticing on the same hills, I was having to kick down another gear to maintain speed or acceleration. It was difficult to gauge the power difference in lower gears and it felt almost the same as you'd give it throttle, and the downshift speed and accuracy for gear placement made it still feel good. But then I was merging on the highway and had a driver that was refusing to let me over and with a line of traffic behind me, I had to floor it. So I did...and it felt like I just sat there....this is was where I really felt the power loss...and it was noticeable and not worth it IMO.

I was also down about 1 mpg compared to what I was seeing on the 91 map....not sure if that was as a result of giving it more throttle due to power loss, or the difference in E0 vs E10. Either way...soon as this tank is empty, I'm going back to the 91 map.

i rarely rev high, and rarely above say 4200 or so. i would happily give up the major surge up high if i could keep the same power down low more or less. but the latest 1.02C has improved power down low and it's really nice, noticeable. I'll try the 87 tune but will be watching for any power loss. any loss where i can use it will be a deal breaker, but I'ma try the 87 when i get it!

So I now have about 300 miles on 1.02C (I drive a lot for work).

I can honestly say that this is how the truck should have come from the dealership. There are no quirks that I have found yet. DEFCO could still use some attention IMO, but other than that it is fantastic. VVT is smooth and consistent with no on/off jerkyness from before. Power is still improved over stock and very similar to 1.01B, but much more linear from idle to redline. I had to get around someone on a back road on my way home tonight and started in 3rd at 45mph. Before I knew it I was going 75.... Oops. Best of all, fuel economy is still good. I'm getting 19-21 with mostly highway driving, but I expect that to improve slightly as my right foot gets a little lighter. :D

Honestly, I wasn't in it for the power, but yes, the extra power is a nice bonus. You can find the dyno charts in here somewhere.

    My butt dyno is happy.
