o_O NO! We need predictable engine braking down to idle. If we wanted to coast we would have bought an auto.

Thanks for trying this out... I’m loving the power running 93 on 1.02C-A, I’m just gonna roll with it for 1000 or so miles.

The power is real with 1.02c on my truck. I have about 250 miles on it now. To me, it's way better then 1.01b. it feels completely different. Way smoother and way more predictable. I won't know how to act if getting an MT truck on the Dyno makes it better then it is now. My wife drove the truck today and was even commenting on how different it drives.

I contacted them about the tune for the 2018 and was told it would work. It probably will but not sure how he would know if the truck has been released yet? :notsure:

The chances of Toyota creating an all new ecu that uses a different processor and logic for the same engine is 0%. It will work.

We can already do the 2018 camry, and have. It uses the same ecu.

Has this tune addressed the constant gear hunting in and out of 4th on inclines?

There's no gear hunting that I'm seeing but it will downshift according to torque demands.

Like you’ll be going up a relatively steep grade, it’ll downshift from 5 to 4, try to upshift again to keep the rpm lower, lose power again, and drop down to fourth. A constant cycle of that. In the mountains was a beating.

It’s significantly better at holding gears and shifting overall less number of times vs stock. I’ve battled this since I bought my truck and bought a shift sense pro initially. It works pretty well but as I added weight, the trucks performance suffered. This calibration kit is way beyond SSP as it adds power, throttle response and really fixes the AT about 85% IMO. It’s so much better to drive all around.

My complaints are with cruise control. Cruise will still drop 2 or more gears to maintain the set speed, but with me controlling the throttle, I can do the same hill with only 1 downshift.

Makes me wonder actually. @OVTune is there a separate map for the acceleration amount for cruise control anywhere in the ecu? It’s like it floors it to get back to set speed causing multiple gear shifts. 1 is fine, 2 is sometimes expected, but 3 feels like too much. If whatever controls it was relaxed a little, I think it would make cruise usable.

I live in Kansas so there are definitely no mountains but on the hills we have that dictate the use of 4th, it will stay in 4th until there is ample reason to upshift. Same with 5th.

I don't have the tune yet but i constantly have to cancel cruise because it seems to get stuck in a low gear and won't shift.

Trans software up to date. Did it with 33's and stock gears. 35's and stock gears. 35's and 4.88's. 37's and 4.88's. No change on any setup.

I don't think anyone got 04B10, there would have been posts by now. Maybe it's causing Mat more problems than the others? Dunno :notsure:
I'm starting to wonder if we can/should be " upgraded" to one of the other versions. Unlike the auto guys, there's never been a TSB that involved dealers flashing our trucks to my knowledge.

At this point I'm just gonna say screw it and wait for the outcome of M/T Dyno day. Wouldn't even be worth it to switch at this point if 1.02C is obselete in favor of an MT specific tune next week

Yeah, exact opposite for the MT. Too much is not good, but since we don't have a torque converter it needs to be consistent. I personally prefer to have as much engine braking as possible and avoid using the brakes. It is very useful for winter driving.
