I feel like if the bottom of the grille ended at the bottom of the headlights and the opening below was bigger it would look sharp. Picture something similar to the '10-'13 4runner fascia.

If that grill was an option in '16 and/or '17, guys would be lined up ordering them just 'because' its not that 'stock hideous cheese grater'.

Yeah but what do you see in real life? I see 3rd gens every day and MAYBE once a month I see another with a Pro grill that isn't a Pro.

Have yet to see another with 4Runner Pro wheels like I have.

Jesus..... is this a truck forum? Trucks are known for having big grills. You want the air to flow for it to work towing things or crawling around in a lower gear, that's why many come with additional coolers to help with the work.

If you want pretty little noses go back to cars.

I totally agree, which is why I specified my observations being what I see on TW. In ‘real life’ I am surrounded by Cheese Graters all day long. These trucks are immensely popular where I live, and of the dozen or so I might see in a day, the majority are TRD package with a stock chrome grille. I’ve seen two ‘derps’ in the wild, and one ‘proser’.

Not sure of your point, are you complaining that tastes of many here on TW don't reflect the real world or that what you see in this one niche of owners is tiresome / boring because much of it is the same?

BTW niche usually groups things together due to common interest so we may do things the same way......

I never complained about anything. Reread my original post. All I said was when I see a chrome grille on Tacoma World I’m stoked because there are so many derps and prosers......that’s all. Nothing more to it. You started this exchange :facepalm:o_O;)

I see the mounting spaces on my current TRD-Bro grill to accept the radar cruise control module in the front grill. Nice I don't have to get new one :) Just a new truck at some point lol

Here is your first post with my bold, what I consider the complaining part.

Nothing wrong with leaving your truck stock, many people do as the real world shows. With the 3rd gen truck only in its 2nd model year, the options for those of us that do want to modify are limited, that's why so many here seem to make the same choice. But when you compare modified 3rd gen trucks to the real world population of Tacomas, the likelihood of seeing them in the wild is rare and in that case not at all boring.

For some of us, stock trucks are almost boring, we see them here and much more in real life everyday.

    Thats my point.

    (No offense)

Woah...... that’s getting very deep bro! Thanks for clearing things up! Based in your interest in my opinion, I have to conclude you secretly also agree the Chrome is superior. It’s gonna be tough, but the only solution is to slap that cheese grater back on like a real man.

Nope, no need for the chrome grill at all and definitely not superior. I just wanted the truck to say TOYOTA on the grill just like my 86 and 91 did. Nothing about the "Pro Grill" says PRO anyway so it's does not make it a PROSER as you think it might, its says TOYOTA which is what the truck is. As far as I'm concerned its a heritage grill chosen for the Pro model.

Keep your shiny sombrero logo if it makes you happy, many people do.

    It makes you a Proser.
I totally understand the whole "old school" feel, but the reality is that it's a Pro grill offered on the Pro alone for the 3rd gen. It's simply a Proser mod otherwise. Super cheap and super cheesy mod that WAY to many people are doing...and that includes "in the wild".
Overdone, bored of it. Show me something individualistic and new, and I'll show some interest.

You assume that I built my truck to interest you....

I didnt, it's put together the way I want it to look and suit my needs. For 30+ years I've done my trucks that way.

    Notice the similarities?
    20160416_091053.jpg

I had Ivan Stewart Tundra wheels on my 04, does that make it a Tundra poser? The wheels only came on that edition Tundra.

    PROser? I don't think so.

When you have yours, show us how interesting and unique it will be then I'll take notice of what you have to say. Until then you're just making noise. ;)

Oh I'm going to walk it. I'm going to walk it so hard that a cop will never be able to tell just how drunk I am no matter how many times I have to walk it.
I'm going to walk it so hard that even a straight line would be impressed.
I'm going to walk it so hard that even Prosers would be impressed.
Give it a year dude, and you're going to see just how hard I'm going to walk it.

I'm sure your instagram will be quite proud.

In a year while you're still paying off your RTT and your color matched tools, winch, tires, bedrack and lift, my truck will be paid off.

    Good luck kid!

Keep scouring the forum for ideas, you probably need a few for your "build" to keep it "unique" and "interesting".
