Looks like you need some .125 SS Waterjet cut and CNC formed and my beer fridge is fairly empty....

Cutting 1.5" thick 6061 is pretty amazing.

Some shock tools I cut out.

Well, the last day or so has been frustrating. I finally got my winch stuff mounted and wired, and everything turned on as expected. However, the winch will NOT power out or in at all. I get good positive solenoid sounds from the contactor, but not a damn thing otherwise.

I suppose my dumbass could have wired it wrong, but I really doubt it. But at this point, that would be an easier fix.

For now, I’m going to finish up the last few things that I need to get down before I leave for RT tomorrow. If I have time to troubleshoot it before I go, I will.

@Gramps, any thoughts as to what I might be dealing with? Thanks in advance.

Anyone of the 1st Gen peeps out there adjusted the clutch on a 5-speed? Is it pretty straightforward? Unfortunately, the only other clutch I’ve adjusted was on my CJ-5, which was definitely not hydraulic. Within the last day or two, it’s been a little tougher to get into 1st and Reverse.

Anyway, I’m searching the interwebz now, but if anyone wants to chime in, I’d appreciate it!

That could the cup or syncros. Adjusting the clutch is easy though.

    Thanks, Monte!

With the low mileage on the truck and he fact that the PO replaces the pedal bushings, I’m hoping it’s just the adjustment.

Anything to watch out for when I adjust it? One thing I did notice was that the fluid definitely needs to be flushed when I get back. It’s starting to look nasty.

Well getting into reverse has been an inherent problem on out tranny for ever. 1st though is usually due to the syncro or just the shift fork ball which is also super easy to swap in a new one and cheap.

Adjustment is just at the pedal. Pretty straight forward with a 12mm and 14 mm. FSM has some stuff about how much play in the pedal there should be....can't remember off the top of my head

Good idea, Jake, but yeah, the clutch fluid level is fine. I’m almost certain that it’s the adjustment. It’s always been a bit too far toward being not fully disengaged when the pedal is depressed. I think it finally is at a point where it’s a problem.

    Awesome!

Thanks again for being available, dude. I wasn’t intending to be scrambling at the last minute, but work completely torpedoed my plans this week.

@NYCO ran into this with his new winch. It has something to do with remote control syncing. Take a look at the instructions on that. I know after a bit @NYCO started working.

Update - I heard you need to hold the in and out buttons down for a few minutes while in programming mode. Once the remote syncs the motor will begin to move.
