    IMO mount it on the hood. Better signal strength. Have had mine in the bed and moved it to the hood mount and was clearer and reach out further. Mine was a wilson 1000 though.

    Another vote here for mounting it on the hood. I got my bracket from relentless fab and put a 3 ft firestik on it. Works great thus far

    I like the firestik jamb mount. Stainless steel and does not rub the tailgate. RF radiation is not perfect but the only way you'll get that is with it mounted on the center if the roof. Even with less than ideal GP my SWR is extremely low.
