Yes - must do the 6x9s. The rears "fill out" the soundstage with some additional clarity but the bass and volume is coming from the 6x9s. If I were doing this in stages it would be 1. tweeters 2. front 6x9s and 3. rears

Sounds better even below 30 .. more clarity, no muddy sounds and yes you can hear the bass even at lower volumes, it's just really obvious how much better these speakers are when you crank them up

Thanks for the 411, I like my music around 35 but the wife likes it lower. I'll start with the tweeters and maybe wait for the sale again @ CF for the doors.

The tweeters make a big difference in the sound, i did tweeters first and then later i did the front/rear door speakers

I'll be getting the 6x9's next. I was real careful with the door cables but after sitting in the back to listen to the speaker diff the door would not open. It opens from the outside. Are the two cables to the handle one for outside one inside? I did snap them in well. Or so I thought.

I'm reading this thread with great interest. Seeing the recommendations to install kicker 2 or 3ways in conjunction with the Subaru tweets that are kicker branded.

I understand the plug & playness of the solution but wondering if one of the kicker component speaker sets might be a better (cheaper) path. If

Sorry hit ENTER too fast. My question was would the tweeter you get in Kicker's 43CSS694 6x9 component set be on par with the Subaru/Kicker tweets? I'm seeing 43CSS694 for about $170. A little cheaper than buying the Subaru/Kicker tweets and Kicker 43CSC6934 (about $200 together). Thoughts?

Problem solved. I guess I slid the child safety switch down. Slid back up everything good. On to the 6x9's.

I started working on sound deadening the back wall of the cab today. More area to cover than the doors obviously. The 50 sq ft kits bigger sheets came in handy. It took 5 sheets to completely cover it from the bottom of the back window down to the storage bins under the rear seats with a decent overlap in the middle. The biggest challenge it finding all the mounting holes for the various items. It's not like doing the doors since you don't have another door to go look at if you can't find something. I knocked it off at 5 when I started getting frustrated. Also lost a couple of panel clips that I need to replace. Hopefully Autozone has what I need so I can get everything back together tomorrow.

I did the 6 speaker upgrade yesterday and covered most of the outer door skin with the Noico sound deadener, along with it around the speaker openings.....wowzers what a difference in stereo sound and less road noise. Also now shutting the doors they sound like the doors of a Bentley Continental GT shutting, so solid!

I also went with the 12volt Solutions plug-n-play remote start with the viper smart start module, so fricking easy to install and works like a charm!

All in all, took about 3 hours to install everything...probably could have been shorter but I took my time taking stuff apart for the 1st time and had to MacGyver the front speaker adapters a bit to get the kickers to solidly mount to them.

    Thanks OP for this!!

Finished up the rear wall sound deadening project today. I had to look up pictures on here to figure out where some of the rear window motor mount wire clips went. I should have taken a bunch of pictures when I was tearing everything apart. That would have made things a lot easier after I covered everything with Noico. On to the subwoofer install next weekend hopefully.
