Wanting to sell my Leer shell, having a hard time figuring out how much I should list it for.
    Edit:
I don’t know the exact model, there’s no information except a serial number and a date of 2013 for it. I bought the truck with it used in December 2016.
It’s wired up and locks. (2 keys)

Usually this is accompanied by information on what kind of shell it is, what optional features you had added, original cost, age, etc.

You also need to decide at what point is it not worth selling.

With the current info, I'll start the bidding at 1 dollar.

While you update make sure you read these as well.

    SELLERS RULES
    1. You must have a minimum 50 posts (legitimate posts, no spamming the Off Topic) before you may place an ad in the B/S/T section. If you place an ad here without the prerequisite 50 posts, your ad will be deleted.
    2. If you post a for sale thread, please be sure you are interacting with our TacomaWorld community. If you meet the minimum post requirements, but your posts consists along the verbiage of "lol", "idk" in attempt to be insidious to meet the post requirement, your account privileges will be revoked at staffs discretion. This is not your personal Craigslist.

    3. The subject-line of your post must be a description/name of what you're selling
    4. You must include a price for the item. If you aren't sure, put down a number and add "OBO" after it (Or Best Offer)
    5. You must include a picture of the item you're selling. It must be the actual item, not a manufacturer stock photo. It can be attached to the post, or embedded from other sites, such as photobucket. The item MUST be available for sale at time of posting. If its on a vehicle, make sure its removed. If you want to sell something, and its still on the vehicle, then you can make a thread after its removed, and ready for sale.

    6. For local-pickup or regional sales, you must include your city in the post and specify that it's a local-pickup or regional sale
    7. Specify the model year that the parts you're selling are made for
    8. When naming a price, take into account any fees that PayPal may charge you (under "Receiving purchase payments")
    9. If you are selling the item on an auction or classified site, you may link to the sale from your post-BUT YOU MUST still include a picture in the post.
    10. When the item you're selling is no longer for sale, please indicate so by replying to your sales thread. This helps avoid confusion among people seeing your post.
    11. Sellers may bump their threads only once a day (please remove previous bump)
    12. Carfax reports are not allowed to be sold via Tacomaworld
    13. Please do not make multiple threads for the same items
    14. In order to offer lighting products for sale (as a business, not an individual selling parts from their vehicle), sellers must be on the official Tacoma World vendor list. This is due to overwhelming number of light vendors appearing on the site.

    BUYERS
    1. If you're making a willing-to-buy post, it must have WTB: in the subject, followed by the item you're looking to buy

DO NOT BASH for sale threads in what you think is a good price to sell an item. PM the OP and give them a suggestion. You have been warned and action will be take action if this happens

DO NOT post for-sale threads that are not complete. Photos are part of the deal, so don't start a thread until you have them ready. If you do not post a complete thread, it will be nuked. Statements such as "My dog ate my camera" or "Photos when I get home tonight" are not good substitutes for photos.

Do the windows slide open? Screens? Take some inside photos, does it have a head liner?

Also you can email Leer with your serial number and they’ll tell you what model it is.

If I had to guess, I’d say depending on your area it’s at least $800-1000.

Well I need answers before I go ask the wife for next month allowance, then I could have matched you 2 dollar bid. But nope you just knocked me out till Decembers allowance.

It's a Leer, the emblem is on the side behind the side windows. Also, the list for selling should also include that you have to be registered here for a month. Toppers and hard covers appear to be hard to sell. I've had my hard tonneau for sale since April...can't hardly give it away and it's like new. Good luck.

I had a list of people here who wanted my shell, and it wasn’t for sale.

Some areas have slim used markets and high demand. I hunted a year and a half for my shell, and I beat 10 others to pick it up.

When I bought my topper, I asked the dealer if I could trade in my tonneau cover. He said to look out back...there was at least a dozen toppers in very good condition that had been sitting there for a very long time. Still there. Still here. I'm tempted to just use it as a cover for one of the bridges that goes over the creek that runs through my property.

Location, location, location. Some areas, there is a high demand for camper shells and color of the shell maters too. I looked around for several months for a MGM shell and then settled on a silver one. Then 2 weeks ago I spotted a shell almost exactly like yours for sale, 2 hours away. I drove there and picked it up for $800. It is in good shape, and matches my truck. Now I have to sell the silver one. Good Luck.
