Lift or no lift?

Do you guys think that I should lift my truck. I posted it in the photoshop thread and this is what they came up with. What do you guys think??

do you wanna lift it. is the better Q.. and i like the black rims simply because chrome has no plzce on (MY) 4x4 its gonna rust

 

Well to be honest I really dunno if I want to lift it. I love the way it looks! Although I love my stock ride and the smoothness. I would like to lift it, but Im not 100% sure. Thats why Im getting you guys opinion!

 

i like the lifted look better. but its not my truck. and it does look good as is. as far as ride goes it depends on how its lifted. could be better or worse

 

Im afraid that the ride would turn rough, like riding with square tires. Thats the only thing that holds me back!

 

from what i have heard billies give a much improved ride over stock and a mild lift. just stay away from spacers and blocks. if your really that worried about a smooth ride i would suggest stayin stock.. (not directed at you) but it always pisses me off when sum1 lifts there truck/jeep whatever and complains about losing a factory ride. or buys a mud tire and complains about tire noise. again not directed at you by no means

 

Lift with chrome because you already have chrome trim.

That's a really nice looking truck you have there man. If you lift it you're gonna have to put some bigger tires on it to fill the wheelwells. I like that model and color Taco.

 

Thanks for the input guys!! I agree with what I read above, Its aggravating to hear ppl complain about the ride after they lift it. Which I understand that it will decrease a little bit. With the billies what exactly is that?? Just shocks or what??

 

I dont think you can put 5100's on your truck, just Tacoma's. From what I understand it takes the place of the factory shock and you can adjust it to let the coil sit higher up or down causing the truck to be lifted.

 

Lift it. Not a fan of chrome but your truck looks good with them due to the chrome trim. I definitely get rid of the pinstripe for a cleaner look. I felt the same as you when I bought mine regarding lifting it and ride quality. I save some $$$ and went with Toytecs coilovers, rear 1.5 blocks, bilsteins 5100. The ride quality is better than factory. Very smooth..Good luck!

You will just get longer shocks with that truck. There are some shocks with ride control on them. You have torsions and tacomas have struts in the front end. 4 inch kits are popular for that truck. They come with drop brackets and everything you need. Tacomas have totally different suspensions then the early 90's toyotas (hilux)

 

Ah I got ya. How much can you crank the torsion bars?

 

Tell they botom out. That will give you a stiffer ride though. Some guys re clock the torsions so they can get more out of them. usually you can get an inch or two out of the torsions alone plus what lift you put on it. It looks like you have after market wheels because the stock toyota wheels wont work because of the offset.
