hey, waiting to hear from a couple of guys on here that work for toyota to tell me what an acceptable deal is- right now i have 3 dealerships all saying $29,500-$30,000 is the price out the door- I think im gonna take it- just making them wait and make sure thats the best they will do :)

Its complicated working the trade at the same time!

    keeping my fingers crossed!

    I'll keep you posted!

Hello gcwaterski! I am new to the forums and I am currently looking for my first Tacoma here in Texas. The dealer priced a double cab for me at $30,309 (i think this is before tt&l) with the following codes:

    DZ-6disc changer sterring wheel controls
    FE-50state emmisions
    OC-TRD Off-Road Package:Offroad tuned Susp...
    TO-V6 towing package:class 4 hitch, trans & oil coolers, 130a alt, 7pin connector w/conversion, heavy duty batt...
    CF-carpet floor mats

This is my first new vehicle purchase, and I am glad it is the Tacoma. I had no idea it was such a neat truck! I had an 82 Sr5 long ago, and I still miss it. I wanted the VSC, but they apparently are non existent... oh well. I am looking forward to my new purchase, I can't wait! BUT, I will shop around a little. I think I'll wait till the first of next month to see what kind of incentives they are giving at that time.;)

I guess I don't feel bad, I thought CT was a rip off state but the prices you r describing r the same for me. My 07 dbl cab trd off rd with exhaust and cold air intake with all the bells and whitsles went for 30,000$ out the door. The dealer tried to squeeze me out of a few $$ with the exhaust and intake but I brought him the papers I was quoted on from Toyota's web site and he brought the price back down.. Good luck and I hope it works out for you..

I have an 07, dbl cab, TRD off-road, 4x4, SR5, with the tow package and i paid $26,500 out the door. you just have to be a dick. i told them EXACTLY what i wanted down to every option and color and told them i would not go over 26k. They droped to 28k and i told them this was not a negotiation and i was not paying over 26K. They dropped it again to like 27.5. Then i told them i was not paying over 26 and left. i went to other dealerships with the offer that the original one made and they beat it (barely) then i went back to original dealership with their now beaten offer and i went back anf forth between dealerships till i finally hit 26.5k and took it. I knew i would pay a littler over 26 but i wanted them to think i wouldn't budge. It took a little over a week, and alot of driving and you have to be firm, and a jackass, but it eventually paid off. I dont know if you wanted the 6 disc changer and all that but either way i think you can do better on price.

BTW, i went to like 5 different dealerships and ended up getting calls a month or two after i got my truck saying they were having deals and wanted to talk to me about getting me a better deal. That just goes to show you that they want your money more than you want to give it away. if you give it some time im sure you can get a better deal

Thanks for the great info! What was the original price they quoted you that way I have an idea on how much to offer? I would pay 26.5k in half a heartbeat! But yes I would like the 6 disc with mp3 (if available) and audio controls on the steering wheel, etc... I am a music junkie!

The original offer was right at 30k, maybe a few hundred over or under. I didnt really pay attention cause i told them right off the bat i wasn't paying close to msrp. if you start adding stuff on like the changer you're gonna pay more for it. i have no idea what they charge for the 6 disc from the dealer but you may be better off geting the basic unit and upgrading later. I would have liked audio control in the steering wheel but i haven't seen a taco with that yet, i have no idea if thats an option or not. I know they have it in the 4runners so it makes sense to put them in the taco but i have no idea. either way i wouldn't pay extra for it.

The TRD comes with the steering controls and the six disc cost about 200, no MP3 though (your better off hooking up an Ipod anyway). I told them I didn't want the six disc but they said it would be near impossible to get one without, which I thought was odd considering I was custom ordering the truck already.

The 6 disc w/steering wheel controls is $200 option. There is a second option (which I don't want) for $650 with a JBL stereo (i don't like JBL) and a subwoofer (which I could add later anyway). I don't mind paying $200 extra for the changer/steering wheel controls from the get go. Seems pretty fair, plus the one I drove had it installed.

My bad, maybe the steering controls come with the six disc not the TRD.

Hey guys! DK, good luck with your purchase! I am still negotiating with a few dealers here, but it looks like all said and done i'll have 30k in this baby!

ndcouch- I dont know what state you are from, but ya deals must vary b/c from what I have researched your deal is unheard of! (i believe you, its just an awesomely unbeatable, ( and for me unattainable) deal!) is it a manual? I would buy one like that, for that amount, all day long!

Do you guys think a better deal will come up in the next month? I absolutely cannot wait any longer than that though! currently the only deal here for that model is $750 cash back....

I live in South Carolina, if you live out in CA or some place like that then you might pay more. I didn't get that price on deals or rebates or anything, i just talked them down. Dealers know they usually won't get msrp, so they have alot of wiggle room. find out your trucks invoice price, not msrp, and shoot for $500 above invoice. BTW, mine is an auto, i didn't like the six speed. i think other people on this forum have gotten similar deals though
