Yeah your other truck had some issues going on.
My '02 F250 was still doing well when I sold it this year. It wasnt reving at 4k. But it has a different V8 than the F150.

As I said the Tacoma acually doesnt have good shift points compared to a full size. It actually lags and doesnt have enough gears if you ask me. You just need to get used to how this truck drives.

Higher RPMs arent good. It means your engine is over working and your trans isnt Shifting (ie all hp and no torque). You seem yo be interpreting the opposite.

Its good the Tacoma is low rpms. Bad your Ford wasnt that way. Again willing to guess there was a problem with it.

we found out that when a shop did the tune up on her, they cross threaded plug #8, and it had been like this for a while, but was running just fine until one morning.......started her up and real bad shaking . my friend could and did fix it, but he had a explorer and just swapped out parts and she is running fine now. we knew he could fix it, but it wasnt something that could be done in a day or two....so we got the Toyota and made him a deal on the Ford. I would have drove that Ford till the wheels fell off as she was a good truck.....but I know he will take care of her.
I dont like having payments now......

Are y'all confusing the DRLs with the parking lights?

DRLs are the Amber lights on the inner portion of the headlight. Parking lights are the little amber lights on the outer edges of the headlights.

Or is this completely different for pre 2012 tacos? I can view both Parking or DRLs while my truck is running and in park.

Then maybe it's different on manuals. On my old 2015 tacoma, if my headlight selector was on DRL and the truck was running with the parking brake on, they wouldn't come on.

when you turn the light dial on....first you have the parking lights and no tail lights, second turn give you parking lights / tail lights and third turn gives you parking and headlights.

most of the trucks I see, have the parking lights on ( no tail lights ) and thought it was just a Toyota thing as like I said, most of them run this way.

    To funny Toyko Joe....

First is DRLs, then it's Parking lights (with DRL), then it's headlights. Not really sure how the tailights act in those modes.

Tails don’t come on til you go to Parking+drl. DRL setting alone taillights will be off.
