Just got mine done. So far it's quiet. I had a small lift and the hum/vibe would come and go. Removing the CV shaft was a bit challenging. Finally, repeated hits with a hammer and screwdriver (from centerline outwards) seemed to do the trick. Trying to get a single hard whack was not productive. At first I was trying to pry it off - to no avail. It went back in pretty easy as it had white alignment marks and I ensured the clip had it's open end down. Hardest part was driving the bushing in. It seemed to take forever as it was tight and you can't get any good momentum with a hammer in that small space. Not nearly as smooth and easy as the ECGS video shows. But then again, I was sitting on my arse with just the left front lifted. I'm sure it's a bit easier working up on a lift.

does ECGS install require an alignment afterwards?

How much did it cost you to install the bushings? I live in the same area.

Also, was this due to the lift? I have the same symptom after the lift and two alignments but not many describes this specific symptom which is present in my truck.

Will using the lucas oil cause any issues with the dealer down the road for warranty purposes or whatever reason?

***sorry for multiple posts, just spent a good hour or so digging through this thread alone. Good stuff!

Changing the needle bearing will before the change in oil viscosity. Do as they say and switch, can't hurt anything anyways

Just like everybody else in this thread, the symptoms have started to appear on my truck.

Any risk waiting a week or two before completing the bushing upgrade? I have an appointment but need to drive a few hundred miles before completing the swap out and wanted to make sure there was no risk

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll be dropping my truck off at Tandem Automotive in Fort Worth next Friday (I see you're a local DFW member)

That's stupid cheap. By the time I added up the part, the removal tool and buying lunch for a fellow TW'er for the help, I was nearly at $200. I then promptly installed the CV seal incorrectly and was out another $500 to have the seal reset because I wasn't tearing it back apart again.

I wish I was local to the show as I'd be much more apt to lift the new truck not having to deal with the install again. Kudos to ECGS.
