As long as your wheels don't stick out past the flares you should be fine. I've had mine off for 40,000 miles and my paint still looks good

Well, mine do just a bit...and my KO2s do like to fling a bit of gravel around...

I too am running KO2's (265-75-16 on stock offroad wheels) for about 5,000 miles, and haven't noticed any chipping in the fenders. Although "alot of driving on gravel roads" could lend itself to some possible damage. KO2's definitely like to pick up gravel.

I recently viewed a thread where a guy updated his 2nd gen shifter knob with one from the 3rd gen trucks. It was pretty cool but a little pricey at around $100.

I decided to go a completely different route. Here is a pic of my stock shifter...

Well looks like I have to weld on one bracket for the OEM steps...was trying to remove 2 broken bolts in the factory location. I tried bolt extractor, tried drilling it out and finally the original threading broke off and now just have a hole. FML.

I took mine off on my truck and i drive on gravel roads everyday. After a few years my rockers started to have paint chips all over them. I have since added flaps back on to prevent this from getting worse. My vote is to keep them. Even when i step up to 285s, im going to try to keep them, even if it means trimming the hell out of the stock ones or going with some aftermarket rokblokz

Do you have a short throw shifter? If not, you should get one.

I love the one I put in mine. I remember when I was asking about them you said sometimes reverse could be a little more stiff to get into but I think mine is actually easier than stock was.
