When I was in Iraq, I've seen these things on Toyota Landcruisers, and trucks some people had . I was wondered why of all the places do they put their smoke stacks in front of their windshield . It didn't click for me at the time for a very long time . Not until I went to Brisbane later and saw that their trucks have them too .

If we buy and install one of those lower control arm armor guards, do you know whether it will cover to protect those sensors too? :fingerscrossed: From that picture, I am unable to figure out.
I just checked the price for one ABS sensor, and it ranges from $184 ~ $245 before taxes depending upon where you buy it from, and that doesn't include the cables, which is extra $44 ~ $60.
And of-course as the very typical excellent engineering work from Toyota, would place that sensor right in a sweet spot where it will snag something and snap off for your comfort and outstanding durability.

The lower control arm skids will not protect the sensors. And Toyota is not alone in this. SDHQ actually originally developed these in their raptor product line first as they were having big problems with the sensors getting damaged. As far as I am concerned, the guards are cheap insurance and well worth the price and piece of mind.

I ordered a front rail for my Tacoma too. Don't know what the hell Toyota was thinking omitting it on the 3rd gens. Is drilling required? Either way it's going on because that's where I want my HiLift.
Replacing that plastic oil filter cartridge housing not far behind this mod.

Waiting for my head rail to arrive. Is drilling required or does it just bolt on?

Ordered mine from Amazon. Saw one (OEM) advertised from another source for $25 and change but add the shipping and it was about the same price as Amazon. About $40 (free shipping) for Amazon Prime members. Shipping charges can add up fast. Free shipping for Prime Members worth the price of membership if you by things on line especially since Amazon has a alot of what you might be looking for.
Not advertising for Amazon, it's all about saving some ca$h! More $$ for my Taco, less on shipping!

Had my flawless 2011 double cab totaled last month. Not one scratch or door ding....., anywhere! Loved that truck! 18 year old kid T-Boned me at an intersection. Hope you have a good insurance adjuster, mine treated me right. Can't say enough about NGM insurance either. Gave me over $23K towards a replacement.
Know how lousy you feel about your ride. Felt the same way and mine was 6 years old.
Truck can be replaced, hope you're ok?
Still going to the chiropractor myself 3 times a week. Duck, upland and deer season a total wash! Creates vacume!
On the other hand all you have to do is take a good look around and you'll realize that lots of folks aren't so lucky in life.
Still sucks though, hope you make out OK.

No drilling at all. Use the existing T30 Torx bolts that are already on the bed-cap.
