On my Jeep there is a trick with the ignition, on-off-on-off-on in three seconds and the OD will spit out the codes. Is there nothing like this on the Tacoma?

I was using Supermarket discount gas in my 05 AC 4X4 SR5 and the light came on. Autozone guy read the code and said it was the "catalytic converter- $800 *big smile on his face*" I told him it was still under federal law warranty and drove off. Switched gas brands ( Sheetz here in PA) and the light went out in a couple of days and hasn't come back on since ( two months). Yeah, I stopped using the cheap gas even tho it's typically 60 cents off a gallon.

Have Autozone check it out. Report back to us, more than likely it's nothing if your truck is running fine. There a couple of ways to reset it (using the scanning tool, disconnecting the Neg. Battery Terminal for a about 10 mins). Hopefully it's something like a gas cap.

My check engine light came on about a month before inspection was due.. I called two local dealers and asked how much? They floored me 80.00 to scan it plus labor and parts usually about 500. I went to auto zone for free scan, cooling problems, free print out of problems and parts needed for repair: thermostat, temp sensor and top off antifreeze 70.00. Didn't solve the problem. Back to the dealer 80.00 for scan, changed sensors, 80 for new scan total 500. Had a mazda truck, check engine light came on auto zone said EGR 95.00. Went to the local dealer and asked, EGR usally are ok it's the sonsor on the exhaust manifold 65.00 bought it and that fixed the problem. Not so sure about the zone anymore. Nice people though.

Did the exact same thing with the same muffler. Check engine light came on also. I work at Autozone and scan it myself. But when I scan it it says its the O2 sensor.

URD O2 simulators clip into the rear O2 sensors. If you remove the rear O2 sensors, how do you add the URD kit?

Thanks for the link. I bought the O2 sims from URD and they seem to be working well. I am glad you shared the link and if I have any problems, this will be the replacement.
