Did Geneva Creek, CO and hiked down to one of the Iron Fens. Those terraces are each 5' tall! Took the road to the 3-way intersection below the ghost town of Old Geneva City - I had to turn back due to the failing light. Trail was in good condition - no snow, a few 12"+ boulders to crawl over at the higher elevations.

I went to Ocala National Forest in Central Florida last weekend to try some off-roading. Before I went I researched the Tread Lightly Trail but could not find any clues on how to access it. Unbelievably I took a turn to go off road and saw a sign for it. If any one is interested, let me know and I can give you the coordinates.

The trails were good, a lot of them had soft sand. I would have definitely gotten stuck if I wasn't using 4WD. There seems to be a lot of trails for beginner to intermediate, you just have to find them.

Just saw that you're new to the forum. Welcome! Sorry if I was harsh in my previous response. However, please don't drive your vehicle off-trail, no matter if it's only a few feet! Amazing trails like the one you found get closed all the time because of a few people not staying the trail.

Good job finding this trail, and thanks for offering to share the coords!

Ha-ha, it is pretty ironic with those two pics next to each other. I do have a few points to add some details/justification. I do agree that staying on the designated paths is both good for me and the trail.
    • The photo of my truck was not taken on the "Tread Lightly" trail. I found that Tread Lightly trail just before leaving the forest and didn't really have an opportunity to drive it.
    • The spot where the photo was taken was at a passing section. It was a small path off the trail where a slower driver could get out of the way or if an oncoming vehicle was coming. It was not as heavily used as the trail which it looks like I just veered off the track.

    ...Ah, gotcha!...

...SOooo...this ranger is driving along the creeks and rivers lookin for folks fishin without a license...

...he stops on a bridge..looks downstream, and sees this guy walkin toward him holdin the bottom of his T-shirt out, filled with flopping fish...

...he asks the guy for a license, and the guy says he didn't catch the fish...they jumped out of the water...

"I was sitting on the bank, and the water started to boil in front of me, and ALL these fish jumped out of the water like a bigger fish was chasing them...

...so I scooped them up...and was bringin them farther up here to toss them back in away from the big fish"

...the ranger tells him the story sounds pretty 'fishy'...and will have to fine him for not having a license...

...the guy says, "look, I'm tellin the truth...let me put the fish back in the water where they jumped out, and you will see the big fish go after them...if not, you can give me the fine"

...so the ranger says, "OK, Prove it!"....

...The guy goes over to the bank..and carefully releases all the fish back into the water that he had in his T-shirt...and they swim away....Nothing happens...

...the ranger smirks, and says, "guess I'm gonna have to give you that fine for all those fish you had after all"...

...and the guy smiles and says..."WHAT fish?".......:rimshot:...;)...

This picture really made me appreciate the stock OR wheels. I don't think I'll swap mine out unless they get damaged. Do you have any kind of lift?

Is that the ATV Trail? If so was it wide enough the whole way?

Just Bilstein 5100’s set for 1” in the front. Need to figure something out for the rear since it gets a little bro lean with a load in the back, although it’s not horrible- that’s like 600lbs of bikes. I’m thinking something like Sumo Springs.

Not sure what the ATV trail is? This is Crown Point Mine. Just wide as the truck. Clear all the way up except last switchback which had a foot of snow past where I camped. Probably won't be clear after this weekend. People have been telling me I couldn't get my truck up there but I knew I could as I took my 3rd gen 4Runner up it a few years ago.
