8,500 miles on mine in 8 weeks. All over the country, 60/40 highway & back roads/trails. Probably my favorite tire yet. We'll see how they do in the snow in a month or so here in Vermont.

Yes. Do let us know. Southern NH here, but travel up to Errol all the time. Snow was my big concern with no snowflake

I'm sure this question has been answered somewhere in the previous 217 pages, but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for with ease. I have the stock Dunlops on my truck and was planning on switching everything out in about 10k miles to 255/85/r16s with a 2.5" lift. However, one of my tires blew out on the side wall a day ago and is unrepairable. I'm rolling on the spare for now, but I don't have the funds for the lift AND tires right now. So I was planning on doing the tires first by themselves as a temporary measure to get me by. Obviously, I would be pavement only during this time period, but I was curious if this would be doable for a month or two without excessive rubbing or fucking anything up. I have a 2010 SR5 4X4 with 2017 TRD OR wheels and TSB rear. Thanks!

I ran my 255's with no lift while waiting for leaf springs to come in. Only had to pull the mud flaps. They rubbed while turning under compression but it was bearable.

Check post #4289 on page 215 for pics n stuff.

Go for it. Will be easier to identify the areas that need to be trimmed this way. Go ahead and fix all that and when you get your lift you'll be ready to wheel.

Thanks for the info! I'm planning on getting them done at America's Tire. I've had really good experiences with them in the past and I love their road hazard warranty. They have a few options that I'm considering:

    -BFG KM2
    -Cooper ST
    -Cooper ST Maxx

I'm mostly considering the BFG KM2s and the ST Maxx. I just thought it was interesting that the ST was load range D instead of E and therefore a little lighter. I had an awesome experience with the original BFG KMs a few years back in my 96 Suburban when I lived in the snow. But I realize that was a very different truck and the Tacoma is a completely different beast. I've seen a lot of positive reviews for the Maxx tires on here. My truck is mostly a weekend warrior with trips to the mountains in the snow for snowboarding trips and weekend getaways. Very little to no wheeling. Maybe a couple of fire roads here and there. Thanks!

I run the KM2. Really like them for what I do. No good for ice though. Zero siping. Have heard nothing but praises for the ST maxx. If you're not wheeling, I don't see any reason to put up with the typical MT quirks.

On my third set of KM2's but the ST Maxx will be my next tire if I still have the truck when these wear out.

Absolute shit on ice but great in the snow. My truck was busting through everything in a 3' snow storm we had a couple years ago.

Ha ha. We get just a little snow and ice here. Happened to get my locker (mechanical) installed right before our first ice storm last year. Perma-locker plus mud tire equals...

Wow. The correct file didn't send. Correction the ears need to be trimmed flush.

Also depends on your bumper. I have a Relentless rear with hidden hitch which seems to create a bit more space under there. I have not touched those 'ears', they are still in standard location. When I crank the spare in I just have to pull it backwards a bit so it indexes up close to the bumper and inside the tabs. Easy peasy

Then bash your tabs or upgrade your bumper

    I recommend the latter :D
