    Ah shit. We were camping in Henry Cowell SP dead south of that when they issued the red flag Sunday evening before wine county blew up. Ranger said not even camp stoves. We went back to town to get burritos for dinner.

    We had home-prepped beef stroganoff we were all ready to heat up. Plus J and I wanted one last campfire fix as adults before we left.

    Only the night before, I was pouring my bucket of water over the firepit embers until there was no more sizzle. Little did we know.

    There were some threads about that and I think the general consensus was that the metal is so thin there even a repair will likely tear again :(
