Face it guys - If you want a Taco with a Manual - You have to go into a Taco dealer and ORDER ONE. Could it be that the reason they don't 'floor' Taco's with MT's is because people don't buy one because they can't find one on the lot?? Circular reasoning I'd say.

Yeah the factory knob is hard to beat honestly.. there is a stark difference in weight, I think this new knob weighs like 1.6 pounds haha, whereas the factory I think is .6-.8... not that it matters but yeah they feel very different

Did anybody find the adapter to get the boot up to a new shift knob?

I want to try a weighted one

At Lake City, there is a silver AC MT and a Pro MT. They sold at least two AC MTs since I looked there a month ago (a grey one and a silver one with the red stitching and trim).

Mine was on the lot at Rodland in Everett.

Nice! I'm running the same one as St.Germain and love it. I also have a SR and that cheap urethane knob had to go!

I am not sure what you are looking for beyond the stock Eco display? It it by far the best OEM display lay-out I have ever seen. Much better than a scan-gauge. Torque would read instant, and maybe could to a time domain graph, but I don't think you will gain much beyond the sock display.

In terms of getting good economy, speed and high cruising RPM are the enemy. I accelerate at a moderate pace and always shift below 3K rpm unless I really need to merge on the highway. For cruising, you want to be between 1,300 and 2,000 really. For holding a steady speed, I am in 5th for 35 and above, and 6th by the time I hit mid 40's. You can turn the ECO readout solid (all bars above 30mpg) if you can cruise in 5th or 6th between 35 and 45 mph. The low 6th gear kinda kill hwy mpg above 65.

For anyone interested I'm a big fan of mine. It's a little large at first, but you get used to it (that's what she said).

Not sure how much I can justify paying for something called a "TRD Ball", but that's pretty sweet.

honestly i get like high 13 to high 14 mpg all city. and my driving behavior is always like jackle and hyde... i once drove high way and was estimating something like 18 on a short 15 miles trip... i wish i got more, like 17 but really couldnt care less i guess. 3 peddles arent as efficient as autos but i cant drive an auto. ill fall asleep at the wheel. my last car was an s4 with dsg, and even tho i love that speed of changing gears it does get boring as hell fast. they need to hurry and make a sc or turbo kit for our trucks so i have a reason to get less mpg.

right on. my last was a modified up R32, also dsg. after all the tweaking and tuning and rebuilding the chassis etcetc, the Tacoma MT is 1,000x more fun. every drive. totally serious.

A co-worker of mine just bought a 40k+ mustang. First thing I said was I hope it's a manual. Nope! He doesn't know how to drive a manual. If you're going to spend that much on a sports car, why not take some time to learn to drive a manual?

I would never buy an automatic Sportscar, why even bother.

Sorry for bad lighting, but here’s what the knob looks like with optional boot adapter for those interested.

Yeah, I DO like the ECO app, but I wish it were more customizable. I don't love the layout. I would prefer a horizontal bar for current mpg that was larger. I would also like if it had best mpg for the same trip. I would like if it had a current gear indicator too. Minor gripes. Don't get me wrong, i like it. It's like having my dad in the passenger seat, lecturing me about my lead foot.

I bought a GT350 a year ago. They're not not available with an automatic. You get a 6-speed Tremec manual. That's it. Ford called that one correctly. If you can't manage three pedals and a gearshift, you're not gonna drive the car.

FWIW, the car is an absolute hoot. Redline is 8250 rpm and she just screams. Part of the deal is track time at Utah Motorsports Campus. That was an eye-opener as to what the car is capable of.
