i currently have a 3in pro comp lift kit, would i be able to swap it for a 6 in stage 1 pro comp lift kit?

my girlfriend bitches about getting in and out of my rig with a 3" lift. She probably wouldn't like a 6" any better... ;)

Consider your CV and diff will have increase wear past 3". Just something to take into account.

As long as you know what is involved with a 6"..you have to cut the crossmember.

Not with the 6in lifts. You cut out your cross member and it drops everything. You actually have better CV angles with a 6in DB lift than a 3in mid travel lift. But you gain no ground clearance since you are essentially dropping all your components down.

lol, is your girlfriend going to be riding with OP?

Not gaining any ground clearance is subjective... and depends on the end tire size. I have a 6" drop bracket and have right around 13.5" at the front skid with 315's. But yes, a full suspension set up that nets the same lift vs a DB will have more clearance than the DB. But you can gain ground clearance.

Anything is possible. The only limit is your budget and your, or some shops, ability to get it in and working.

That's the great thing about a gf vs. a wife. Much cheaper and easier to get rid of and replace a gf then a wife.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
Just do the 12 inch lift and be done. Keep the fattys out of your truck.

A properly set up 6" DB lift shouldn't cause any extreme wear on CV's. That said, any suspension modification form other than stock has the chances of shortening the life of cv's. But generally DB lifts help to keep the CV angles closer to stock configurations.

My buddy has a DB lift and 33s, his CVs are pretty much straight. Mine on the other hand have more angle on them so I keep an eye on the boots to make sure they don't wear through where the fins touch.

OP, there is a right and a wrong way to do a 6" lift. The right way is very very very very expensive.
Most of us are assuming you are cheaping out with a massive spacer lift (which yes will put extreme wear and tear on the truck and make it dangerous in an accident).
The right way involves thousands of dollars along with relatively irriversible frame modification.

You are in for more than just the kit on a procomp stage 1. You still have to hire a welder to cut your frame. I imagine you need all new upper and lower control arms?
