    ...too much shit to list.
    Short fix. It breaks immediately after at the ends of the plate you patched it with. And it's super difficult to MIG even with .023. You end up stitch welding and it breaks outside the weld. Easier to just leave it be and let it flex at the crack.

    Agree. Let it flex at the crack. But you need to move the battery!

    And the zip ties mentioned above will work until you back out of the driveway. You could cut a piece of aluminum and use sheet metal screws to place it, then remove the screws one at a time and drill out for pop rivets.
