Sold my Tacoma and picked up a 2012 4runner from a family member. They bought it a year ago with the mods already done. It has a lift (appears to be adjustable coilovers) but the CV angles look horrible to me. What can I do? Thanks for the help guys. DA924111-FBE7-43AE-8474-1CDE82423D81.jpg

If you lessen the preload on those coilovers it should help with the cv angle.

Update. Tires and wheels didn’t effect the angle at all. 797C8F27-E0AB-4348-A39A-D19C2C025C2C.jpg

Lessen the preload a couple threads, should make it better and not affect the height noticeably

The outer boots don't look too bad but those inner fins look especially crammed against one another. Do they make/recommend diff drops for 4runners? Might help

They do but most say they don’t do enough to justify it and in some cases cause more issues. Some people said they thought maybe the angle would improve slightly once I got tires and wheels on.

That wouldn't affect the angles of the boots, going to have to lessen the preload a bit or try a diff drop.

Just doesn’t seem normal for 3 inches or less of lift.

Eh, some seem to get it worse than others but 3" usually compromises the cv angles more or less.
Or look into aftermarket cv boots, I think marlin crawler makes them. Not sure about 4runner applications.

Just hard to replace a $1,000 +\- setup just to hopefully help cv angles. The lift apparently only has about 5,000 miles on it.

A different lift wouldn't change anything. Just lower the preload a little bit. It sucks if you want the height but that's just the reality with 4WD lifts.
