Hey what about 99 model ECU's? Also what makes the 98 year model "too old" All of the ECU's are different from year to year except for some 02-04 stuff. Please tell me this isn't just for 02-04 stuff :(

the older ECUs we really want to do, we just need some way of getting the binary off the processor. I'm sure it's K-line flashable. but it's not K-line READable. So we have to get the binary to make it tuneable.

Right now we don't have binaries on these old processors. They are super old, probably 64kb roms. I'd love to do them because these ROMs are so simple, but cracking them is insanely hard.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Haha if you ever find a way to crack them lemme know, the 95-97 ones are dead simple, don't barely have any I/O capability at all. They are definitely EEPROM but there is no great way to interface with them.

Can you just replace eeproms/processors with blank programmable ones?
I used to do certain.... ahmmm tv receivers that way. Had a large smd chip that was locked after it was programed. Sourced an unlocked blank one and replaced it.

calibration data is not on a EEPROM, it's stored on the same processor that executes all the instructions.

if it was EEPROM it would be so simple

Tune for the SC will probably be our primary focus for the ECU :)

Nice! From what I have been experiencing here at sea level, low humidity... the SC needs additional timing retard at under 3k RPM in additional to URD's factory maps that come with the 7th injector kit.

Those look like part numbers, and they would be on the ECU itself

So who do you need me to kill or pay off to be able to read and then tune my 99 3rz ECU?

It's unfortunately impossible unless you can fly to Japan and ask Denso to release the cal file

Just bumping this to see if you are ever entertaining the thought of transmission ECU tunes. I would also kill somebody for a trans tune.

They did do this for obd2 honda ecu's but it never came to fruition and wasn't popular but also it was expensive to do. You'd have to burn multiple chips just to get it right.
