So much of this is finding what works best for you. I serve the peep in completely even up both sides around the peep. If it begins to get out of alignment I rotate the D-loop and retighten or just cut it off and replace it with new material, align, and tighten. As long as you can get it to come back strait on you and you have a complete site picture it works no matter which way ya go

It’s not too bad, it’s like having my own annoying little friend always by my side, LOL the irony. I had the replacement to stop the pain, go figure

I will state in the doctors defence as they constantly kept reminding me a 44-year-old person is not supposed to have their shoulder replaced it’s just not a common Practice

To be honest, if it were just the shoulder I could handle it better, and if my job didn't involve me using my shoulders all day that would probably help also. My back is far worse than my shoulder. We thought that was what was going to go then I fell. I shot 3D worlds a few years and had to stop that because they shoot it on ski slopes and it killed my back on all the steep and uneven terrain. They were great corses to shoot and alot of fun this getting old crap isn't for sissies

To explain, why do I say it is superior, because I don’t have to be in a formal setting to adjust it I can do it on the fly in the field in the tree stand at the moment it needs to be addressed, that’s why I Favor it

Not sure what surgery you had and your age but its not as scary as it seems.
I'm a powerlifter and bow hunter. I had rotator cuff repair surgery in April 2016.

I was mystified when I was able to pull back my 60lb bow and shoot it this year with ease. I think I was more afraid of if I couldn't do it than if I could and it hurt.

Make sure the doc and PT clear you for all activity first. After that don't let fear stand in your way.

Pull ups also had me scared for a while. It was almost a year post surgery till I would even try lol

Do EXACTLY what your docs and PT tell you. Follow the rules and go slow.

Don't let your ego screw you over.

I'm 26. I was benching 300lbs before surgery (I weighed 160). After I dropped to doing dumbbell presses with 10lbs to rebuild cuff strength. It was 4 months before I was working with a barbell again.
I was in more pain after taking my sling off. Months 2-4 sucked lol.

Have to keep your eye on the ball and forget the rest. Don't make any judgements of what you can and cant do now.

    Be fierce with your rehab.

Indiana keeps expanding their laws. If your center fire cartridge worked last year, it also works this year.

Been scanning through the thread.... I guess I'm one of the few that has embrassed the suck, and openly admits to using a crossbow?

i had some jackass impose some shoulder injuries on me back in '04, and since I have been incapable of drawing a bow effectively... and I used to hunt a Bear recurve because I felt compounds were cheating. :( Took me about 3 years of failed attempts before I finally came to grips and got my disabled permit.

Now I hold my head high because it puts meat in the freezer just as effectively as my rifle at <60yrds, but my season is months not days long.

My name is Corprin, and I am a crossbow hunter.

This happened about a week ago.

House Enrolled Act 1415 allows some additional rifle cartridges to be used on private land during the deer firearms season, but removed the ability for any rifle to be used on public land for deer hunting. "Public land" includes both state and federal property.

Well put! Don’t mistake us. There’s nothing wrong with using a crossbow, we were just saying that is just not the same.

LOL, yes I know. I was just using that as a quote grabber. But in all seriousness I’m sorry to hear about the massive struggle,
both physically and mentally that you’re having to go through. Good luck as you figure out what you can and can’t do.

Oh it's not, and to me using a bow with wheelie things and releases was not the same as my bare bones Recurve was thought of in the same manner.... nothing wrong with it, just not the same thing.

Now my biggest problem is killing bolts by stacking them on top of each other during target practice. I can hit a 2" group at 50yrds from standing... never even close to that with a traditional bow!

I don't take any post as an attack on me. My hunting buddies all gave me shit till they saw the accuracy. And honestly.... it's cheating. 3x scope with bolt drop compensation, lighted reticle. But it is what it is.

I'm 50 and this is the second rotator cuff surgery in a year. There isn't any labrum left so I have a lot of bone on bone contact and arthrittis. I'm good with all of it suprisingly it'll either work or not.
