I don't have any interest in having rear seats in an AC. I am wondering if without seats, does it lower the value, or may present a problem with resale later? It looks like the entire rear was professionally redone, but not by the current owner, who has no knowledge. I don't think Toyota had a rear seat delete option.00S0S_5ZJjX2eylqa_1200x900.jpg

definitely not professionally done, the bottom of the rear has seams you can see and doesn't match the bottom of the front.

Toyota DID have a utility package that deleted the rear seats, but that is not it. Having the rear seats removed will damage resell value, but so does pretty much anything you change from stock.

That said I have my rears deleted, Ininstalled a @docloco molle panel rack and never looked back! If you do want rear seats mine are available.

Post 1868 is my rack install and thoughts.

I don't want rear seats. But maybe most people would, thinking that kids and some adults could be riding back there.

I really like my 06 fold forward seats. Makes it nice and flat in the whole back of the cab. Some people have put the '05-'08 rear seats and rear panel in the newer 2nd gens.

My first mod was deleting the seats on my AC. I built a box that doubles as storage and a dog platform.

Plenty of people would rather have the space than the seats. I wouldn't worry about resale value.

Well that's nifty, didn't know they could do that. With the way I have things set up now I'd still have ended up deleting them but that is a better design than the late 2nd gen AC rears in my opinion.

Yeah, they really screwed the pooch when they changed the seat design. People that buy access cabs have a priority of hauling stuff and more than 2 people is a secondary consideration.

    2005-2008

I wouldn't limit my search to those years based on the seats alone, but it's something to consider when you're looking at access cabs. When I was looking for my truck, I didn't know about the seat differences. I just lucked out. Also, keep in mind that 05 and early 06 had headgasket issues and weak motor mount frame perches. and as mentioned, many, many times, inspect the frame for rust.

Thanks. I've become keenly aware of the rust issue and it seems that older trucks with recently new frames are starting to show up. Saw an 06 that just got a new frame on 10/9/17. Dealership bought it at auction and got it approved for a new frame. Now it seems to be higher, 70% of original MSRP.
