Are you sure it isn’t the pizza giving you gas? Didn’t know Pizza was the solution.

To be honest... That set up is badass. And to be fair, you have the ability to use pots and pans haha. I personally have never ate pasta up camping.

I did notice they were out of stock on his site. Luckily I work down the road from CVT in Bend OR. and they had a whole handful in stock when I got mine. They are great to cook on, Best thing I like to cook on mine are fish tacos, They turn out great.

I have a few pics in my build thread. There is absolutely some that this mount doesn't work for. If i didnt run a rtt i would put it on the rail. However if you look at the pics you will see i placed the mount behind the metal and i think that helped me. Ive ran it for about a year now. That being said I would pick another location if my setup allowed for it

Out of curiosity, do you have a spring mounted with your antenna? I only ask because I’ve noticed some of the people I’ve seen saying they have contact issues don’t have springs. Obviously could be nothing but since everyone’s experience varies I’m trying to figure it out. I just got the same mount so I’ll see how I fair.

Interesting. I don't run a spring, but I don't think the 48" Firesticks are supposed to have one. I used to run an 108" with a spring, but that is supposed to have a spring.

I’ve only got a 36” firestick but I plan on running one. From what I’ve read(which is quite a bit lol) it’s all personal preference but I’d think it would take quite a bit of stress off the mount itself

You're right about the stress. I had it in my mind that the firsticks were much more difficult to tune sitting on a spring. That could be, of course, completely wrong. :notsure:

I had a spring on my 36" firestik and couldn't get it to tune correctly. Once I removed the spring I had no issues tuning it.

You could check out @edansnatches media, he has a few photos of how he has the bracket installed. Also, he does not use a spring... Lucky guy.

Firestik Heavy Duty spring is rated for whips up to 5', hope it helps.

I'm on a ledge about it. I might order the bracket, but first I want to see if @At The Helm braces will do anything to gaps by tailgate.

    My apologies for :threadjacked:

    Little Edit.

I ran a spring on a 48" Firestick. After I figured out the right connections for the main cable, I had no problems tuning this. This was on an F150. I have not installed it on the Tacoma. I have a few hood mount brackets that I hope will fit. I will get some pictures posted at some point.
Also sorry for jacking the thread.

Are you running the Firestick on a spring?
