Good source on rights is http://www.saf.org/

Congress put out a book on the second amendment many years back .... may be able to find it online somewhere

Just remember that statistics prove nothing about individual cases. And individual cases prove nothing about the "whole" unless you have A LOT OF DATA.

John Lott Jr. admitted to fudging the statistics in that book, and all other endeavors to recreate his studies gave non-conclusive evidence.

Don't get me wrong, I support private gun ownership in every form, I am an avid supporter and gun owner for years, but the facts are the facts. Lott Jr. even went as far as to pose as a woman and vehemently defend his teachings and his book, praising himself as a professor and a writer, and defending himself against critics, all as this "woman."

Good luck with your paper! Don't for get that the most influential writing is that which is supported by fact. That said, you should take a look at Calguns.net

California, being one of the most regulated states, seems to have a very strong following of very informed and knowledgeable individuals on the topic of gun control, regulation, and statistics. You should be able to find a great deal of information here.

    Good Luck,
    Daniel

Agreed. It seems that trial-and-error, aka "the human method," is the only method that has proven which laws are effective and which are not. It's really the best that we can do since there is no algorithm for the human response.

Also, bullets don't kill people -- death kills people.

Sorry I could not help it. Good luck with your paper.

If you really want to put your point across, stick with the facts and statistics. Those things cannot be disputed. Logical arguments will easily fall into place afterward.

well its a persuasive paper, so im thinking i have to consider the counter arguments and then disprove them with more evidence to support my argument making it stronger
