Ha same issue here! Got them all done, and something looked...off. Realized I centered the R in TRD instead of the T and the D so they sit higher than center. Should have referenced the oem center caps before I started. Sigh. Ordered a new set to redo them.

These are the decals I'm using and they look awesome (other than being centered wrong). I'll post pics once I get them finished.

Anyone here mount them with wheel locks? I cannot find a size that'll fit these small lug holes.

We recommend McGard 25357 (black) or 25257 (chrome) "tuner" wheel locks. They use a small diameter key that fits perfectly.

    http://mcgard.com/index.php/automot...4-locks-and-1-key&Itemid=0&category_pathway=0

Gorilla also makes small diameter wheel locks that fit well with our wheels:

    http://www.gorilla-auto.com/small-diameter-locks

More than a good set of wheel locks I would suggest a good alarm for your truck. The alarm on my truck is sensitive enough that it will go off before I can even finish undoing the lug nuts if I don't leave the keys in the ignition or one of the doors propped open slightly.

Thanks for going with our wheels @Brenden J. Part of the difference you'll notice will be from the slight (approximately 3%) increase in overall diameter and part will be due to the increase in weight. The E-Rated (10 ply) BFG KO2 is likely going to be way overkill in terms of what you need on a light truck such as the Tacoma. The C-Rated (6 ply) would be much more appropriate for the majority of Tacoma owners.

With that said, I highly suggest looking into the Toyo Open Country AT-II in P265/70R17 if the truck is primarily street driven. This is still a very capable all-terrain tire, it has a great looking tread pattern and sidewall design, the quality of construction is excellent (they balance out very well, especially compared to the BFG KO2), and the weight in P265/70R17 is only 41lbs per tire. I use them on three of the FN Wheels trucks, and I am not sponsored by Toyo Tires.

The OEM TRD caps with part # PTR18-35092 fit. This is the alloy background cap with red TRD logo.

OEM black or OEM gunmetal TRD caps from the 4Runner Pro OE 17x7" wheels do not fit the FX Pro.

We elected to use a flat center cap in our wheel to give (what we feel to be) a cleaner look to the wheel vs. the raised, hollow dome, plastic OEM cap that comes with the 4Runner OE wheels. Our caps are interchangeable with the PTR18-35092 caps (as I already mentioned).

We offer plain color matched caps for all colors other than bright metallic silver (bright metallic silver was a special production run, and we include alloy or black background caps with bright metallic silver).

OEM TRD 4Runner Pro wheels (PTR20-35110BK and PTR20-35110GM) have the following specs:

    Diameter: 17"
    Width: 7"
    Offset: +4mm
    Backspacing: 4.15" backspacing

FN Wheels FX Pro wheels have the following specs:

    Diameter: 17"
    Width: 8"
    Offset: 0mm
    Backspacing: 4.5"

For reference, OEM Tacoma TRD Sport 17" wheels are 7.5" wide. OEM 4Runner Trail Edition wheels are 7.5" wide. Most/all OEM FJ Cruiser wheels are 7.5" wheels.

OEM Tacoma TRD Sport (2005 ~ Present 2018) tires are 265/65R17. This tire size requires a minimum rim width of 7.5", meaning that the 4Runner Pro 7"wide wheels are too narrow to be safely installed. You can of course physically install the tire onto a 7" wheel, but it won't be safe, and the tire manufacturers have not approved it.

The most popular tire size for the majority of lifted Tacomas, 4Runners and FJ Cruisers that have 17" wheels is 285/70R17. 285/70R17 also requires a minimum rim width of 7.5". As is the case with 265/65R17 tires, this means that the OEM 4Runner Pro wheels will be too narrow to be safely installed.

The OEM 4Runner Pro wheels more or less limit you to a few tire sizes: 265/70R17, 275/70R17 (and a few less common sizes such as 255/75R17 and 255/80R17).

The 17x8" FX Pro allows you to safely install any of these popular tire sizes: 265/65R17, 265/70R17, 275/70R17, 285/70R17, 295/70R17, 305/70R17, 255/75R17, 285/75R17, 255/80R17, etc.

The last part of your question asked about colors. The OEM TRD 4Runner Pro wheels come in two finishes - flat black and flat gunmetal. It has been our observation and experience that the OEM clear coat is VERY flat and porous. This finish looks good when it is new, out of the box. Our experience has been that these very flat clear coats tend to absorb a lot of chemicals, oil, dirt, grim, etc. from driving, and that extremely flat clear coats are usually more difficult to keep clean.

We offer the FX Pro wheels in multiple finishes: bright silver metallic (gloss), dark high gloss gunmetal, matte black, matte bronze, and matte gunmetal. We offer these colors so that our customers can choose from a broad spectrum to compliment the color of their vehicle. We also offer the two high gloss finishes for customers that would like easier / lower maintenance finishes. Furthermore, our matte wheels have a satin-matte clear coat, which is not shiny or reflective, but is not as flat as the OEM wheels. This makes even the matte clear coated wheels a little bit easier to clean when compared to a full-flat clear coat of the OEM 4Runner Pro wheels.

In terms of design the FX Pro was inspired by the OEM wheels with a few subtle changes that we felt improved the looks of the wheel. The FX Pro uses a flat center cap in stead of a raised dome cap, the FX Pro has slightly smaller lug journals (lug holes), and the spokes of the FX Pro slope a little more aggressively towards the center of the wheel.

Many people call us asking about our 4Runner Pro "knock-offs" or "replicas." I tend to shy away from these terms, because it implies something negative and/or unoriginal about the FX Pro wheels. We didn't develop the FX Pro t be a replica or knock-off of the OEM wheels just for the sake of doing it. We spent a lot of time working out improvements to the design and functionality of this style of wheel, so that it would benefit Toyota owners and enthusiasts. It is important to me to let customers know this, because I don't like the idea of lumping us together with the "knock off" wheels that you see on EBAY, Amazon, etc. Those wheels have also have improper specs, are made from low quality aluminum, have a poor finish, no warranty, and no brand behind them. FN Wheels FX Pro wheels have the support and reputation of the FN Wheels brand.

I hope this helps to clarify the differences of the two wheels. In no way am I setting out to bad mouth the OEM wheels, but since I do know all of the work that went into creating the FX Pro as an improved design I am very proud to be able to explain that the differences go beyond color options and price.

How is your stock on these and the Konig six shooters? Can't decide - weight is 24 lbs vs 20 lbs roughly correct?

Dude is super busy so I imagine best form of communication is to call or email direct. It took me awhile to get through but once I did everything was setup pretty quickly. Very happy with the service and these wheels!

So after having these wheels sitting in my garage for a couple of weeks I was finally able to get them installed. I went with Nitto Ridge Grappler in 265/70r17 E load and had them road force balanced on the Hunter. As far as the lift; I have 5100's set at zero, OME 884 coils, Wheelers three leaf add-a-leaf in the rear and LR UCA.

Disregard the foggy headlamp. Those will be replaced soon lol.

Previous wheels were 16" TRD FJ's with Cooper ST Maxx in 265/75r16. I have a bit more rubbing with the new wheels but nothing a little trimming won't fix.
