Need to have a pretty high tolerance for stupidity. It's taken its toll on me.

    I shall not be assimilated.

Yeah, in many industries, the money is better in the private sector. There are plenty of government jobs (local, state and federal) that pay too much for poor performing employees entrenched in the system. Or at least that is the stereotype. I was mostly just making a joke. But as someone who has worked in an office and now works for local government, the benefits and vacation time of a government job are the tits.

Unfortunately, a lot of union-based jobs result in this. I absolutely despise the shitty teachers I work and have worked with that still have a job because they're protected.

idk about that. i think that might have been true in the past but the other day, I opened the little local rag to 4 and change pages of people who make over $100k a year. In my city, there are a number of jobs that require little or no education and pay $60k and up.

I feel like government has no incentive to do anything that helps or improves the services it delivers. In my 5 dudes standing around example, there are probably rules that make all of them mandatory-and just to be clear, I don't blame them. There are probably so many rules that they have a guy just to make sure the guy who monitors all the rules is following the rules.

Local gov also checking in (on break of course). It's very much true, but also very much not the rule. We have plenty here in my department that are well-known as incompetent turds, but there isn't much that can be done without going through a long and costly process of getting sued for firing these people. Cost/benefit. They usually just shuffle them around to some remedial tasks/projects to keep them busy and quiet while their real job is done by someone below them or they hire someone new to do it in addition to said incompetent person.

    I'm looking for work.

Kind of an immediate need.. I have 2 checks guaranteed, after that I'm either laid off or I'm not guaranteed pay. 2 kids, mortgage, sole income earner.. etc,. I'm only covered for the next 2 1/2 weeks.

Located in Sonoma County. Anybody hears anything please PM me. Thanks. <3

$22/hr 40 hrs a week will keep my mortgage paid and kids fed.

Looking at trade unions now but application dates are all into next year for electrical/plumbing.

Tell me about it. I'm not in planning and engineering, but I could be making 10-15K more in a city or large suburb. But then I would have to live in an area with too many fuckin' people and not enough nature.
