Nothing seems to go well for you huh? Sorry bout it! Go back to shopping and add another set to cart, start over I guess is the point. If that doesn’t work, create another eBay!

Looks like a great price for that size! Amazon wanted $265 a tire, 265/70r17, when I bought mine.

How are you guys fitting 285/70s on your Tacomas?! I have a 3 1/2 inch leveling kit and can barely fit 275/70s!

Did you do the trimming yourself or take it to a shop? Also, forgive my ignorance, but CMC?

I know right, (Edit) Forums Are... the land of Acronyms o_O, :D.

CMC = Cab Mount Chop. There are threads on this mod. Thee's even a guy that will provide a piece of metal to cover the hole once you've cut away the offending piece that rubs. The other part of the mod to make them fit is called the Pinch Weld mod. The fender is attached to the body and inside the wheel well the two pieces are pinched and welded together. Guys will either cut (not preferred) it off, or pound it over and flat (preferred) then they coat it with bed liner etc.

I was not ready for either of these mods since my truck is new and decided on smaller tires instead. Ultimately I plan on adding a lift kit so I can be like Mike (Chad) and going up to 285's. Those larger sizes are for the real men.

Yealp, zip knife and about 15 minutes was all it took to trim

CMC - cab mount chop took about an hour

Buddy of mine did the chop and welded in the plates for me

You really only need to mess with the pinch weld if you are going 35s

Just put Ridge Grapplers in 265/70r17 Load E on my truck this past weekend. Wheels are FN FX Pro in 17x8. So far I am very happy with the setup, and they have been very smooth and quiet for the couple hundred miles I've put on them so far. I still need to dial in the air pressure and trim the fender flares a little but otherwise no issues. Looking forward to getting these out in the snow soon.

*disregard the fogged headlight, I'm working on replacing them soon lol

    BOOM-SHAKALAKA!!!!!!! :thumbsup::taco:

Yea, curious as to what you come up with for the air pressure. I'm at 37 in the rear and 36.5 up front. When I'm shittin' and gettin' down the highway though at more than the average speed limit, it goes up nearly 3 lbs. I may back off the cold psi a little when it snows to allow for some additional grip.

Please post up your review on that as soon as you can. I am anxious to hear about it

I'm going to give the chalk test a shot this weekend or next week to see if I can figure it out. I think the tire shop put them at 38-40 lbs but honestly I haven't check yet.

I did play around a little in the couple inches of snow that we got up in the mountains last weekend. Traction seemed pretty decent but I'll know more in a few weeks. The truck is going into the desert in southern Utah next week for Red Bull Rampage so I'll be able to post up how these tires do on the trails and off road.

    Mike? Me?

I haven't touched my pinch weld.

It says 29 inside my door so I run 30 & that's with 35's. My last set wore pretty even, a little chopping but that was from balance issues. They look flat though for the most part. The shop that did my last 35's put them at 48 & it rode terrible.
