Honestly if it wasn't fraught with Fiat-Chrysler dickery, I do like the way they look. Slick design and some pretty cool features... I'm a sucker for removable t-top sort of things. Sure wouldn't trade my truck but they look fun.

Also all this gun stuff... god damn it makes me realize I have a problem with buying and trading/selling guns.
I've owned HKs, Sigs, Glocks, S&W, Taurus, Beretta, CZ, a Springfield or two, and that's just my handguns.

I've calmed down now with cycling through guns though... a little.

I tend not to shout my opinions from the rooftops but I had a fullsize XDM in 9, loved it and I shot it a lot- then I picked up a Gen 4 Glock 19... and sold both.

Wait no, I was trying to make a point here.

Even later, I bought another G19, a special edition gen 3 that's all Dark Earth/ Tan colored, and after a few cheap off the shelf mods (Vickers mag release, ZEV connector, Apex Trigger safety plunger) it is my absolute favorite handgun that I've put 1000's of rounds through and plan on many, many more thousands. I wouldn't go back to either the Gen 4 or the XDM. Gun selection can be a fickle thing for every user out there, and I would also point out that often selection processes for department or military issue isn't entirely based on technical merit. It's a political game too.

Anyways, I was briefly the floor manager at a gun store, and I told people the same thing when they asked me what gun they should buy. Pick the one that feels right to you, and practice with it until it feels like another part of you. Otherwise, it's basically useless. Don't worry about a specific test or a military contract, because if you don't feel comfortable practicing and leave it alone to collect dust, it's window dressing.

Even then, you are still dealing with grossly subjective personal preference. It's only a baseline to reference someone elses opinion, so called expert or not. I go with what works for me, not Johnny Operator with 10s of thousands of rounds down range.
