Is fly-by-wire and drive-by-wire the same thing? Ive heard them used interchangeably.

yeah they are. The poke is at the "by-wire" part of the phrase. As in a electric wire and computer are controlling your throttle not you directly with your foot. Early ones were pretty bad and could fail. Not a common problem now days though really.

I'm getting ready to do this to my truck too. Did you have any issues getting the allen screws off. Thank you.

That is a FBW or in Toyota speak "Electronic Throttle Control System-Intelligent" t-body.
The ETCS-I t-bodies still have a cable allowing partial "mechanical" operation. They were introduced at the beginning of the 03 model year.
The dead give away is the rectangular plate on top with the 4 screws, the gnarly sensor/actuator on the back side and no IAC.

No, just use the tilt so you can get a better angle at em. If you are using a conventional allen wrench, you can use any box end wrench for leverage to help break them free (putting the allen through the closed end)

This is the info that I was trying to confirm. Yea, I have tilt steering. Thanks for giving me the confidence to finally take care of this. I'll report back after it's done.

Yep, you're going to need something to leverage those two Allens. They are torqued on there pretty tight. I was able to do it without damaging anything with that closed box end wrench (think I used a size 12mm or something)

Side note. I see you are in LB. I'm in Torrance. If you need help, let me know.
