That's cause Silver Springs keeps stretching its boundaries basically the whole eastern part of the county is called S.S.

I consider Southern MD anything below Annapolis and anything West of that is DC.

Most people down here consider Charles, Calvert, and St Mary's Counties southern Maryland. Everything above us is Northern Maryland. Over the Bay Bridge is Eastern Shore and I'm not sure where Western Md would start.

I'm unable to legally carry in MD, so I just stick with pepper spray in my pocket, and I have my hand on it ready to go when talking to them.

Knife. Can't be mechanical, has to be under 3" I think, or it might be 4". Check the laws.

I'd probably accidentally cut myself more than I cut an assailant, but it wouldn't hurt to have one as well. I've trained with police OC before, and that's some nasty shit. Had to get sprayed and go through a course "fighting" various people. I feel a lot more confident with that than a knife personally.

With the exception of Leo's it's super hard to get a cc in this state even for business owners

Agreed. Ive done hours of research trying to see what is good justification to get one, and all I found were a bunch of people getting denied ones that really needed it. After reading that I didn't bother applying because I felt I'd just be throwing money away.

Until you run into the dudes that it doesn’t even phase. Or the juiced up crackhead.

Trust me, it doesn’t work on everybody.

From what I've seen, the "good reason" is basically current and former LEO, military, buisiiness owner in bad part of town or dealing with large sums of cash/valuables, and people with verifiable threats against their life, and or witnesses to violent crime.

I'm well aware, but then again getting stabbed once or twice probably isn't going to stop them either. Just want to have something, rather than going in empty handed.

I may submit for one for shits and giggles and see what comes of it. In my mind I've got a decent justification based on my job, but I'm not sure if the state will agree.

If your in the DOD database that got leaked, or have anything above the standard secret clearance, you can probably get one. Also, look into the Utah concealed carry permit, and the Pennsylvania permit, as those two cover almost the entire country, with a few crackhead states being outliers. Notably M.D.,and CA

I've already got a resident VA one that covers pretty much all the surrounding states, but it'd be nice to be able to carry here since this is where I spend most of my time.

its frustrating that I'm able to get permits for every state except for the one I live in, I just looked into applying for one yesterday, but since I don't have jack shit other than personal defence as a reason, I'd doubt they would issue me one.

Yeah I doubt so as well. I'm even skeptical of them issuing me one, even though I'm military and have a pretty sensitive job. We'll see! Maybe I'll start the application process tonight while at work.

Legal or not, commie MD can kiss my ass. I don't need a law to tell me it's OK to protect myself, that's a right, period. I'd rather plead my case to a judge than live the rest of my life regretting not being able to protect myself or my family because of some liberal BS law.
