Well I'm already back home. Get to web wheel the rest of the trip. My daughter had an award coming her way for a competition that over 4000 other kids entered. My rear ring and pinion are both missing teeth. If not for the diff I would be burning diesel yet again coming back down. Next year I will play again.

Add in a rear sway bar (4Runner) for @Husky Driver. Had to cut it off at the Silver Crack on 7-Mile Rim, after one side snapped. Tip: don't grind trailside if you're wearing polyester :anonymous:

Nice meeting all you at the sand dunes site on Wednesday! We had to bail out of Moab a day early sadly, but not before hitting Hells Revenge and Hella Gate!20171019_161337.jpg 2017101995153107.jpg

We departed PNW on Friday 13th and it was snowing on Snoqualmie summit and then even harder at Corinne pass.
Spent the night in Boise and the next morning, windshield was iced over.

We stopped at the same spooky lime factory and the wind picked up and slammed one of the upper factory doors.
Did you explore the under part?

@rctoy - Konst - didn't get to meet as I had to bail out two days early due to a medical emergency.
    Next year...

I cut out early. The white rim trail took a mental toll on me. I completed 90% of it clockwise to our camp at hardscrabble in 5-6 hours including a couple off shoot detours.

I can definitely see why they recommended it in a couple days if you wanna sight see everything. It was definitely a rough trail for that amount of time.

My damage is nothing like some of you guys but I escaped with what I'm hoping a out of whack alignment though the aligment cams don't look like they moved. I marked them before I left. The steering wheel is way out of center and my traction control light is solid. I'm assuming steering wheel angle trouble code. It seems to drive okay with a slight pull but won't know the real extent of it til I get home.

I was hammering through that trail to make it to camp by sunset. I believe i started the trail at 12-1pm. Came up to a nice sized pot hole in the trail that I hit way too hard haha.

It was nice meeting some of you and big thanks to Tim for the help with the camp spot. Hopefully I'll be ready next year to tackle some of the more difficult trails.

    Stuff. Also things.
Had a great trip despite missing out on all of the official RT shenanigans. Ran the Kokopelli with a handful of really great people who put up with my noobness and my fat ass overloaded EAF rig.

We had a great time and I learned a helluva lot about myself, my limits, and the capabilities of my truck. Throughout the whole thing, these people were nothing but gracious, patient, and helpful. I can’t thank you guys enough!

Unfortunately, once we hit Moab, the siren call of the desert got me, and I split off of the group to go check out the country around Monticello. Once I got on 191, I noticed a vibe and looked in my mirror and saw my rear driver tire oscillating a bit. After jacking it up and verifying that the lugs were torqued, the good folks at M40 confirmed that I have a bent rear axle.

So instead of Monticello, I headed back down 128 and up the Kokopelli to hit that cherry campsite that @PoweredBySoy discovered. Ending up staying there the last two nights and did a ton of hiking, photography, napping and beer drinking. Best two days in the desert of my life, hands down.

I know this is TLDR, but I wanted to thank Brett @Squeaky Penguin, Mike @cynicalrider, Ryan @Reh5108, and last but certainly not least Jake @Tacofire98. You guys rock, and I can’t say thanks enough for the good times, the tips, and the awesome spotting. Thanks again!
