@LWLLWWW are you saying the 2017 Highlander was released in the last week of November 2016? That’s not to bad, Toyota must have a plan to get rid of all these 17’s sitting on the lot:notsure:

Wait... Entune 3.0 will have phone dependent navi or built into the truck? I honestly prefer to have built in. I use a phone mount for long trips (running Waze) but for day to day driving I like seeing a map on the screen without doing anything (i.e. tethering a phone).

What will the 2018 Tacoma have?

Also... I don't think think Toyota is at all hinting Android Auto or Car Play is in the near future... Would love to be proved wrong on this one. As I love Android Auto.

I would actually be surprised if 3.0 was in the 18 Tacoma. No other 2018 vehicle has it except the Camry.

Can we sticky, or can OP make bullet points on all the changes supposedly being made for the 2018 year? Just seems easier than sifting through 118 pages to find them.

Excellent info. Alright, I will definitely wait for the 2018 model. I would regret not doing so later on.

I’ll be ordering a fully loaded Inferno TRD Sport.

Car manufacturers aren’t as stupid as we think. I have to hold the brake for the push button start to activate in my wife’s car. They could make it push to start but you have to have the clutch pushed in. They could then have a separate ignition switch that uses the actually key and double it as an override switch. Kinda like how chevy uses the key to shut the airbag off to the passenger seat.

Seems kinda odd having Entune 3.0 in only one model. Why wait another year before putting it into other models?

Toyota always seem to introduce technology to only a couple of vehicle to see how it does in the market. If it's a hit then other models will get it. The Corolla was one example with it's LED lights. In a couple more years all Toyotas will have them.

It's a radio. It will be a hit, other manufacturers have the features that Entune 3.0 has.

Have you used the Entune 3.0 in the '18 Camry? Operation is good there is a lot of white background which makes for a very bright screen.

I owned a 13 Cadillac ATS, 6 speed MT with a push button start, just had to press the clutch down for the button to work, really no different in concept than the key. It's disappointing that Toyota didn't add this to the 6MT, it was nice not having to use a key in that car. It's a nice feature, clearly not a deal breaker for me, since I still bought the truck, but there are things that Toyota drags their feet on with tech upgrades that are disappointing. Same with Honda I guess...

We are mostly a GM family, except for me, and all GMs we've had always came with the latest and greatest gadgets. But, with new tech come the new tech bugs I guess...

The led lights one seems like they shouldn't have to go to market with a test, so many other manufactures are going that route that they should as well on all cars. Plus I think they need to work more on their drl lights too, but that's just me :cookiemonster:

Toyota put the key in the manual so if you are offroading and stall the vehicle on a hill. You can push the clutch start switch and use the starter to get you going. Otherwise if you push in the clutch you may start rolling backwards.

    DIY Fabricobbler.

Or just use the brakes. The only use I've ever found for the clutch start switch in my Gen 1 Taco is when I want to start the truck from outside the window. Just have the E-brake on and transmission in neutral.

Never used it to actually move the truck with the starter.
